I have 2008 gen2 tuono

And I'm in contemplating a 2012 V4 tuono just for a upgrade and do some trips, every day riding and bee a main bike

Is every one happy they made the switch or wish they had kept the vtwin i know some will have both lol and does the bike have issues,

every bike has them even the gen2 , and I've read v4 issues with hot starts and valve clearance, but is there anything to worry about if i ever went on a long trip.

Mate there's no comparison you will be hard to remove yourself from the saddle! The grin will be from ear to ear trust me it's an amazing bike!

Having ridden my mates gen 2 I agree with the above statement.

The gen 2 is a great bike, don't get me wrong, but the V4 is a whole different level.

Test ride one and you will be hooked :thumbup

Hi Jack930
agree- the v4 is a beast and defy worth the upgrade. Mine is a 2012 with 20k on it and I have had no issues.

They are well built and older models now offer "decent' value, meaning you can probably add a reasonable fix upfront to the well known issues rather than having a nasty surprise. This forum is a fab place to get started: the community is great, the shared knowledge and know-how has added great comfort to me and helped identifying problem areas and solutions incl cost. So browse it and you'll get pretty much all answers you need.

Worst thing for me was the low quality coolant valve that broke on a very hot day - it's a known issue and a used model should have that done so good to check. if not, it's an easy and cheap fix and aprilia's new plastic from the factory holds up well, the AF1 shop has a great quality upgrade as well.

Long story short: upgrade, it's worth it. Read the key issues on the forum first, check that your target bike has them sorted or get it done after purchase and you're ready to go. I did the same and never regretted it.

Thanks for the info..

I know having a gen 2 fuel range aint great..whats it like on the v4.. lol

Not same only more smiles per mile [emoji106][emoji1307] I get just a tage over 100 miles per tank with varied riding I have the smaller tank as you will have on yours

That not good for a gen 2..im getting about 120 harsh riding.. but always fill up at 100 ...

I never saw 100 miles out of mine ever maybe it was either my riding or the bike both gen2 s the same and my gen 1 if your getting 120 out of a tank that's superb [emoji108]

I have had mine nearly a year now that's a record for me did try to sell it to find a home project but glad I didn't in the end it's a great bang for buck the sound performance and handling makes you feel alive nothing quite like it, this link thru the telly sounds awesome it's not a tuono but same exhaust as me and more or less same engine https://youtu.be/q3WdxhXlLpc
