Hi Mate

i took a quick peek and couldnt see ought but i'll have another go cheers!

Release the collar/clamp bolt around the fork leg.

Undo the small bolt from the underside

Release all the cables and lift it off.

sweet man do i not need to remove the top yoke thing? i thought the handlebar fitting went all the way round the fork?

Sorry, my mistake. Yes you will need to remove the top yoke. You need ( I think) a 22mm key to remove the yolk bolt. I think you will have one in the bikes tool kit. Some people have used a sump plug widget. Its on pretty tight so give it some.:pirate

ok cool so i dont need to undo the big red anodised nut thing that sit on top of the blueish yoke? sorry for using you up a bit mate its very much apreciated!

You need to undo the big round thing that sits in the centre of the shiny flat thing. You know the thing that has two long things going through it at each end. These long things attach to a black round thing on the ground at the front of the motorcycle.

Once the shiny round thing is removed, you will need to undo the fork clamps on the flat shiny thing. You will then need to undo the bolts on the underside of each handlebar clamp. Once you have done this loosen the clamp bolt on the knackered bar. The flat shiney bit will pull/wiggle off and then you will be able to pull/wiggle off the offending bar.

So long as you dont remove the lower clamp bolts the forks will not move. Might be useful if you can get the front wheel off the ground so as to take leverage pressure off the lower fork clamp and to give you better access to the clamp bolts by being able to freely turn the forks.

Take a look here http://www.rsvzone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3571&highlight=head+bearings&page=3

This is the thread discribing changing headset bearings. Part of it relates to what you want to do.

Hope this helps.:pirate

I bought it just over two months ago, had it a week, broke mi leg rode it once the day i got my pot off last week, then again a day later. put it on the stand outside my house went in for 10 to chat to my mate and open the garage door, came outside shes laying on her side. Not sure what happened i checked it was stable before i left it, some unsavoury sorts around my end and it was hellish windy who knows! Could've been sick mate awful feelin, i'd put carbon ears n that on whilst i was in pot too smasho! so if you know anyone whos just selling a left i'm the man!
