Had the Tuono 1 week now.

i agree subaru wrx 2003 not the most powerful but great fun taking out my 2004 fighter on sunday trying to get used to a vee twin again last twin was a 900 ss ducati which i loved best bike to now hope fighter will be better getting to change again cheers

Welcome Jonty mate, do yourself a favour and keep your new baby on a trickle charger full time. Keeps everything hunky doory !!

agree with the trickle charger, that said batteries dont last forever. Went to start me car up last week, (been on a trickle charger over the winter) turned over but not enough jip to start it. Batterys been on for 8 years so i shouldnt grumble. But, a bosch battery 3 yr warrenty, delivered to my house for £35 all in is a lot easier to swallow than the 60 - 70 quid they steel off us for bike batteries.

i know they are smaller, less volume blah blah blah.... but still feel like were getting ripped off yet again...

..... think i got out of bed on the wrong side this morning !

Good price on bosch battery. I paid about 35.00 for a non branded one for my Golf. 12 month warranty & could have paid an extra tenner for extended 12 Months but electednot to.
Where was it from.

Did 120+ miles on the T today with a buddy who's just bought a RSV-R, so it was bit of a baptism of fire for both of us.

First impressions are"¦

It's a completely different beast than my Gixxer! Obviously I knew it would be, but wasn't quite expecting it to have the low down hooligan grunt that it does

This is just outstanding when scything through traffic but can be a pita when opening the taps on a bumpy country road! The fecking thing just wants to wheelie all the time & I lost count of the number of tank slappers I nearly encountered :cry

The handling is just tremendous and a million times better than I was expecting, although I will ditch the Pirelli Diablos in favour of some Pilot 2CT's.
As for the brakes, just brilliant, really really superb! Got Brembos on my car (love them) and they certainly don't disappoint on the T. The lever feel is great and the confidence they give is fantastic.
There's a few things about my new bike that get on my tits, ie starting it & getting used to the low down torque, but on reflection I fcuking love it! :yes
This bike is going take some getting used to, that's for sure. Can't wait to tame it :drool

PS

Was thinking of a louder can, but after hearing my mate's Leo Vince without the DB killer, don't think i'll bother. It's way OTT for me!

I tried some cut down zorsts without baffles they were far too noisy for my liking. I hate drawing attention to myself.

nice one Jonty, a good ( ohlins or such like ) steering damper transforms the front end handling and ditch the crappy rear shock as soon as you can ( if yours is standard !! )
Then you have one fine handling machine that you can fully enjoy !

Thanks Dave :thumbup, I checked over the std steering damper today and it's doing feck all! Alsolutely no resistance from it whatsoever :no I guess it's knackered.
Had a look around and am astonished how much a replacement is  Best I start saving for one!

Got a bit bored yesterday and decided to tidy up the rear end a little.
Removed (hacked off) the excess plastic/metal number plate and indicator holder and made a bracket from some aluminium composite sheet I had spare from making some areo bits for the car, relocated the indicators and hey presto...

Sorry for crappy pics

Expensive mate but well worth it, specially if you wanna do some trackdays. Ive put an ohlins on mine which has 21 clicks of adjustment !!

I've got a Hyperpro damper on my T - 21 clicks of adjustment - I have it on click 3 (in from least resistance) and it's solid as a rock, never more than the merest hint of movement through the bars even on the bumpiest B roads.

A trackday on the T is on the cards, i've done many many hundreds of laps of Snett, Brands & some scary times at the ring etc in my car and enjoyed every minute of it + have the experience and equipment to set up the car to handling perfection. But if i'm honest have no idea how to get a decent set up on the bike!
One thing I don't have is a big budget these days, so any cheap *** mods or handling tips would be appreciated :yes

:thumbup
Sounds perfect, I'm starting to get properly pissed off with my bike trying to launch me out of the saddle over every bump on the road :no
It's unlikely i can afford to replace anything at the moment, but cheers for the advice :cheers
