Hi all,

As per title, I bought a 04 Tuono last Saturday.
Not entirely sure why I chose it over any of the other bikes out there apart from the fact that I'd heard that they are a bit of a handful and wheelie well. I did consider a Duke 2 and tbh if I hadn't have bought the Tuono I would have got one.
I've recently returned to two wheels after 20 years mainly due to my car averaging less than 10MPG and the desire to have a bit of fun. Actually it's probably a mid life crisis, but hey!

Previous bikes over the last 2 years are "¦

Cheap as cheaps and surprisingly reliable Chinese piece of **** 125 moto"¦

Got extremely bored of that and bought a SRAD 600, which if I'm honest, thought would last me a good few years of enjoyment. Sadly not! Got a bit pissed off with all the power being at the higher end of the rev range + the riding position was killing my ageing frame.

And my latest toy, the Tuono.
I'd heard these were a bit mental, but nothing prepared me for just how mental it is!!!
I've only had it a week and every time I ride it I swear it's trying to kill me! I bloody love every minute of it :biggrin

And a pic of my other vice, great fun but financially ruining me, hence the new bike"¦

Looking forward to being on the forum and learning a bit more about the Tuono.

Cheers

Hello Jonty and welcome.

Would you like to buy a pair of urban cammo kevlar jeans?

Nice bike and nice car too - here's my two expensive hobbies:
Thanks, can't beat a v-twin & a flat 4 four for a daily soundtrack :yes

&

Newelly2, Thanks but nope :T

Ignore Welly. There is a story behind the camo jeans. Let's just say he was shamed into buying some proper ones :)

imo it's the only colour to have :D (flame suit on and zipped up).
Seriously though, it's the colour scheme that made me part with my hard earned! Each to their own and all that bollocks.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys (& newelly2) :thumbup
Got loads of tech questions to ask, but will search the forum before asking such Q's as "whats the best can" & "how do I get 3000hp from my Tuono" etc etc

:cheers

easy really, stix will tell you about lubricating the rear suspension linkage,
tricky will tell you about the fun of refuelling with a dodgy sphintre at 80 miles.

Mine's grey but nowhere as clean as yours.

Already planned my fuel stops for the 7th Ash did another recce today as had to go to Dudley in the car. ******* Polish truck driver scraped my rear wheel arch & new alloy rear wheel at some road works. ******* devastaed only put them on Friday last week. Still got the origionals in the car. Insurance says getting paid out from them as Polish could be a drawn out experience. Just what In needed under current circumstances. Also broke new HD video camera which was new at Christmas. Discontinued so Amazon can't replace it upgrade to newer model is going to cost and the accesories (battery expansion pack & external microphone) are not transferable. Have contacted customer services who have offered to upgrade for £40.00, another unnecessary expense. Think I should just take the refund money and have another think about it when my situation has improved.

Welcome aboard M8 hope you enjoy your T experience.

Cheers, I was enjoying it until the T refused to start this morning (span over but didn't fire up :banghead )
I spent a while searching for the answers on here (great advice BTW) and jumped it off my car and it fired into life straight off the button :D
Now got my cheap ****** battery on charge and will order a new Yuasa 14 asap along with doing the R1 soleniod and hard wiring mod.

Real good forum this :thumbup

Interestingly enough, I have the uprated starter relay and even though the battery was down to a max of 11.4V it always started. Perhaps due to the relay?

Cool, i'll look at getting that battery if it'll do the job + it seems cheap enough. Cheers

It's the recommended one at the moment. In fact its just replaced the previous recommended battery - Yuasa YTX-14BS. Lasted two years though so not bad. Don't think my riding suits batteries though, lots of 2-3 mile journeys back and fore to work.
