eBay Auction got the 15 tooth front!!!!

I've got the 16 / 45 on mine but that's cos it's a gen 1 and they recommend a 16 on the front due to swing arm apparently. Lots of oomph no noticeable top end difference as rarely get to those speeds

Replacing the whole lot - chain and both sprockets. Thinking of 16/44 or 16/45 combination as advised by AF1.

"If you are replacing all three, chain & both sprockets, keep the ratio the same but go with the larger front sprocket. He said a larger front sprocket is easier on the chain and the only reason many do the 15T on the front as a modification is that the OEM chain is not long enough to go 16-44."

15-41 (ratio 2.733, what I had) is almost an exact match to 16-44 (ratio 2.75)
15-42 (ratio 2.8) is almost an exact match to 16-45 (ratio 2.8125)

Stock is 16-40 (ratio 2.5)

That post gave me a throbbing headache and reminded me of being back infront of my applied-mechanics lecturer and being given the slipper

Well ... to be fair to him he didn't "give me it" I had to beg. :whipping

Aye 16/44 here but on a gen1 so a bit different. Not a top speed merchant me so perfect :)

welly, applied-mechanics. That takes me back a bit, sittin at the woodwork bench fannyin aboot and clampin yer mates tie in the vice etc. The old guy that tought us had a lisp and a fearsome temper. He once asked ma mucker whit a lathe was for, he went mental and belted him for the answer he gave. It wis all a could do tae stop masel pissin ma kecks.

The answer, "It's fir tyin yer shoe up Sir"
