Got no Didital display or rev counter!! Help please!!

I have no digital readout or rev counter most of the time! It resets fine after I disconnect & then reconnect the battery, but then when I switch off it doesn't work. All I get is the neutral, oil & kick stand lights & the bike still runs great but it's hit & miss whether I have readout or not. Newly acquired but I know the last owner. Bike has been ridden very little for a couple of years but dry stored on a trickle charger. Voltage is showing 12.1V
I've checked & cleaned the block connectors etc but didn't solve it. ANY advice greatly appreciated:thumbup

If I'm correct a battery should not read any lower than 12.4v /12.5 v
If it does battery will be goosed

Thanks mate,
I'll check that the next time the display works:biggrin. I remember it showing 13.2v at one point but I think that was straight off a charge & I could watch it counting down 13.1, 13.0, 12.9 etc etc so I think you might be right.

12.8 volts is a fully charged battery , anything around 12.3v or lower is dis-charged & won't have enough power to supply everything electrical on the bike !....... Apparently these need a decent battery like a Yuasa ( this was the first thing I checked on mine & it does indeed have a Yuasa fitted) so your battery might have a defective cell !
