Fook knows
Righty o chaps, got meself a Duc 750ss, thats got fairing damage and a couple of other bits and pieces.
The plan is to make it a naked summat or uvva :).
So I'll be looking for tips and pointers off the 'older' boys with Duc experience now and then. I've never had a Ducati before but I've always liked the look of the Super Sports and particularly the tank for some reason.
First job after the basic checking out and making sure its safe etc is getting a 'need to buy' list going.
Deffinately need risers + bars and probably brake and clutch lines, front mudguard and some kind of diddy fairing/headlight unit.

So, imput and ideas appreciated :)

I guess its a carby 750SS? Nice bike,....my missus had one for a while. The single front disc brake is a bit weak,so a twin disc from the 900 is a good idea.Front guards were all the same at the time so look at 600/750/900SS and 851/888.Monster ones also fit,....but look a bit weird. The injected ones are differant and virtually fook all fits. The exhaust is also differant on the 750,...900 cans wont fit without a bit of cut 'n shut. For a high bar conversion,a Monster top yolk should bolt straight on.Ive got a spare Haynes manual laying around somewhere,if you want.

At last a sane answer you fookin nobs. Cheers KB. Its a 2000 X plate. The manual will come in handy.

They used to do a half faired version which looked quite decent. How old is it, is it single or twin front discs? Gold or White frame?

Its a 2000 X plate.
Aha!
That will make it a fuel injected jobbie then. They went injected in '99.(unless its a late reg'd carby)
If it is an i.e,it should come with twin disc as standard,.....unless its the matt black Sport.Front guards are the same as 916/996/998.Similar age Monster stuff should also fit.

i sold my 01 ssie just after i bought the prila, beautiful torquey engine but the handling wasnt much compared to the T, so she had to go

Hey Nob,....tried to reply to your PM,but got a message back saying yer inbox is full.

As always... make sure the desmo has been thoroughly vetted. Them lil strappy things can cause cataclysmic failure if they go....

I'm purty feckin' excited fer ya knobby. I have to say though that I'd fix the body work and keep it. I lurve them auld classic Ducati lines. Please start a photo thread to document the strip and rebuild. That way us dilletantes can live vicariously through you.

Well, it turns out the seller is a ******. Ebay job, I bid I won and then he sold it to someone else outside ebay. What a ****. Avoid...... johnfoxcroft..........
