GENI ignition on a GENII??

am I able to use a GENI ignition on a GENII? - this follows on from the parts bike I bought, I managed to pick up an ECU and a set of clocks so thought I might build it up. Now I know that the GENII's are imobilised but that you can bypass this, so given that there is no ignition barrel at present is it possible? secondly, will I just be able to connect the ecu and clocks up and it should work or is there more to the CAN BUS system - the item were sourced from different seller so not a match.

Can anyone shed some light??

Not 100% mate but think the ignition/ key and ECU are matched, a mate had an 04 factory with an ignition fault and sure the whole lot needed changing. As Micha said I would go down the route of the Gen 1 electrics, I am now going to fit a Gen 2 engine to my Gen 1 with the Gen 1 electrics.

cheers Bud, yeah I have been wondering - its just that I managed to get a set of clocks and ecu at a reasonable price so thought it may be less arseache - yeah I mayjust go with the GENI leckys still.

I hope you're going to post an ongoing project update for us with pics Matey :thumbup

It may be a long one mate, been on with it for 13 months now, single swinger, all carbon panels, Translogic dash, Gubellini suspension, CBR6 style under seat exhaust and other stuff that I can't even remember. The engine will be getting an 1102cc piston kit, Sigma slipper clutch and a PC3 for now. Will start to post pics this week.

sounds like a fantastic spec Bud, they do take a while these projects don't they :)

hey Jon, cheers bud - I've got a bunch of parts so will need to go through what I have before blindly buying more :) (this is a new years reolution!!! I've bought so much stuff in the past to then find I had that part in another box!! )

I know that feeling, bought a clutch side oem grip the other day on e-bay for £10 for the track bike and lo and behold I found one in a box of bits a day after it arrived in the post ..............grrrrrr!

The loom isn't going anywhere, anytime soon so if you find you need it then just let me know ;-)

Cheers

Jon
