Hello gents. Can anyone tell me what parts between the two generations are interchangeable without having to modify them? IE footrests, wheels, exhaust etc
Ive been trying to decipher the Ape manuals and they dont seem to correlate too well. I cant tell from just the part numbers. I also looked here on our "home for hooligans" and dont see a thread. If its been done and you know of a thread, please let me know. Wouldnt want to beat a dead horse. Thankyou one and all.

TBH it's a bit of a minefield.
Wheels aren't a straight swap, Tuoldo Factory fronts will fit, but the rear wheel offsets are different and non-radial brakes wheel hubs are narrower than radial fronts.
You can fit shims, but I would stick with the same model - or the equivalent mille/RSVR wheels.
Exhausts are different - 4 studs on the port rather than 3.
I don't know about footpegs, but most rearset manufactures list separate parts for the different models, so I would doubt it.
Engines are different, different innards and bigger throttle bodies on the Gen 2.
Switchgear is the same, as are the handlebars.

If you have a specific item that you want to fit it will be easier to answer, but the two models are mostly different.

Thankyou sir Bat. I like the look of the "snowflake" wheel over the 5 spoke. And the exhaust as well as rearsets was out of necessity as older sets seem to be scarce. Im finding more Gen 2 parts being they're a bit newer. Can you tell me if the swingers are close? I know that I may need to do some work there but was thinking of fitting the Gen2 to my Gen 1 and dont have access to one to get dimensions. Not sure on the shock linkage working either. Im an insessant tinkerer so I will have to find a breaker thats willing to give dimensions and whatnot. I believe it was Nob who asked if he had a sickness because of his messin about with these things. I can confirm the sickness is catching. Be careful ya'll. It may get you too!:crazy:thumbup

WC min...why fanny aboot...jist trade the fecker an git yersel a Gen 2 as it soonds like thats whit yer need...then mess aboot wi that..

but dinna tak ma word fur it tho...ah speak pish maist o the time

Rico, fanny aboot? its what I do when I dont ride! I cant leave anything alone as it makes the bike different and sets it apart as well as makes it MINE.:yes I use tinkering as a sort of therapy from the days ********. :yes Im alone with my thoughts and get to be somewhat creative too.

Wilee. Check out the for sale section in the AF1 Apriliaforum there are bits that pop up from time to time.

TBH I have no idea if the gen 2 swing arm will fit, I doubt it though. The Gen 2 frame is completely different, the engine is mounted in a different orientation and the chain offsets are different, the whole geometry is smaller. Beware people selling series 2 swing arms - there were recalls, and early ones are subject to cracking.

I too love to tinker and customize, I actually made that many mods to my old Gen 1 Tuono that i replaced it with a factory - it works out cheaper.

"I replaced it with a factory" HEHE Plans are to sell off the Suzi TL/S and spring for ANOTHER T probably the factory. Ive had better luck finding the T-older stuff on evilbay. Thankyou for the warning about the gen 2 swinger. It was odd to find one for a mere $100us. "slight crack" I will check out AF1 too. Im gonna look into what it takes for the wheels as I cant seem to get past them. I simply love the look of them. I found a pair of Carrozerias for $1000. Very similar in style but a touch lighter. I will see how it goes. Thankyou again for your time and wisdom.

I am sure you will get a set of Oz's for the Tuoldo on Ebay. There is a set on UK Ebay at the mo - shipping and exchange rate would kill it I guess, but they do appear fairly regularly. Your model needs the ones from the 01-03 mille R models or the Tuoldo Racing or Factory models.
The Gen 2 has cast wheels that look the same, the "Factory" models of both RSVR & Tuono are forged and a lighter wheel. If you know someone with a machine shop they can be adapted, one of the guys on AF1 did it a few years back. You need to machine 2.5mm off both sides of the font hub and make some different spacers for the rear.

My old Girl.

That is one nice looking T !What year is that? Yes, I believe the exchange rate and shipping would kill buying the other set. But yes, those are what Id like.

It's my Tuoldo, a 2005 (built in 2004 really) The Factory only made the Gen 1's for a couple of years, they started the Gen 2's on 05, first ones were on sale in the UK in about Oct 05. (about 3 months after I had bought my Tuoldo :) )

The Oz's came of an 01 mille R, I had them powder coated black, and snagged a set of Galfers from Ebay.
Other major visual changes are the Akra 2+2 exhaust system and the long cf bellypan from a Racing.
