Gear- What do you wear?

So once again the subject of gear has come up on another forum. As all the fuds here ride the same type of bike (I won't bring up that Stelvio transgression :) ), I was wondering what you all wear during spirited rides. Especially curious what you Brits wear with your cooler, wetter weather. From what I've seen in various pics yoos guys seem to be ATGATT, but I'm curious as to what extent.

It's getting cooler here now so I'm donning my better gear (more textile/leather, less mesh), and I'm wondering if it's worth the kings ransom to get armored leather pants. My armored textile pants have seen better days so I'm considering an upgrade. On a typical ride to the office I wear the textile overpants over my ultra fashionable "corporate casual" poof pants, and a textile jacket with CE armor or a leather jacket with an armored undershirt. It's fashionable, ever sexy, comfortable when it's under 85 F, and protective so I'm told.

I don't want to wear track gear on a daily basis, but I'm doing 85-90 mph for 45 minutes each way in metro rush hour populated by drivers with extra chromosomes and stunted genitalia (figured I'd throw that in), and wondering if I'm wearing enough. Also I don't want to look like a power ranger but as it gets colder I'm wondering if a one piece body suit isn't a bad idea.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Ideas? Instagram treats? :dunno

Spirited riding I usually wear 2 piece leathers with armour. If it is really hot, I will risk the Kevlar jeans with the armoured leather jacket but am aware of the lesser protection and the fact the trousers and jacket don't fit together.

For commuting and/or touring I wear armoured gortex textiles with a thermal layer. The UK and Europe can get very wet and very cold after all! They are okay when it is warm too and by far the most versatile choice.

At the moment 2.piece full zip handmade leathers for track and the odd road session.

On the road, a Richa textile jacket with certain armour and ixs armoured trousers ...again in textile but with leather knees and arse.

I'm getting too small for my trousers now but have found the ixs trousers to be excellent, I will definitely be buying a smaller pair!

I saw these nice FieldSheer textile pants, fully armored, that I may move on. Some new type of duratex type stuff with the d30 armor. I've never seen textile pants with the leather bits. Can't find them on google. Have you a website for them?

Thanks amigo. I was entering Ixs textile and getting nothing. Now can you help me translate because other than a "helme" I have no fookin clue what anything is! :dunno

I do have to say the chicks on that site are smokin'! I would fardununkle each and every one of them :)

While not in Britain, I understand our Seattle weather is something similar. I have an Alpinestars non-perforated leather jacket (w/removable vest lining), Dianese gloves and Vega boots. All of that I wear year round, swapping out the vest in the summer and augmenting it in the winter with a light hoodie. For pants, it depend. In the summer for just commuting & short rides, I roll the dice and just wear jeans. In the winter I have a pair of leather overpants that I put on top of the jeans. But for spirited riding and/or track days, I've got a pair of AGV leather pants.

on the T I used to wear RST 2 piece leathers in the summer and in the winter Richa 2 piece leather and textile as for the Stelvio well that's for another day

Until recently a two piece spidi power ranger leather suit with full armour but seeing as I'm morphing into a fat blob I'll need something to replace them.

If it's going to be baltic or wet I use fully amoured textiles with removable inner linings .

I bought a pair of spidi kevlar jeans for a trip to Germany a couple of years ago and I've worn them once. I feel as if I'm naked and totally without protection when I wear them.

To be honest rightly or wrongly, I only FEEL protected when I'm wearing leathers and I obviously don't give a **** what I look like in them.

So I guess we can all agree armored leather is the best, but it can be a bit warm in these here parts.

I haven't seen that in my area recently except the old timers. I only wear socks when I'm riding with my sandals on :)
