NY Suburbs- Metro
So once again the subject of gear has come up on another forum. As all the fuds here ride the same type of bike (I won't bring up that Stelvio transgression ), I was wondering what you all wear during spirited rides. Especially curious what you Brits wear with your cooler, wetter weather. From what I've seen in various pics yoos guys seem to be ATGATT, but I'm curious as to what extent.
It's getting cooler here now so I'm donning my better gear (more textile/leather, less mesh), and I'm wondering if it's worth the kings ransom to get armored leather pants. My armored textile pants have seen better days so I'm considering an upgrade. On a typical ride to the office I wear the textile overpants over my ultra fashionable "corporate casual" poof pants, and a textile jacket with CE armor or a leather jacket with an armored undershirt. It's fashionable, ever sexy, comfortable when it's under 85 F, and protective so I'm told.
I don't want to wear track gear on a daily basis, but I'm doing 85-90 mph for 45 minutes each way in metro rush hour populated by drivers with extra chromosomes and stunted genitalia (figured I'd throw that in), and wondering if I'm wearing enough. Also I don't want to look like a power ranger but as it gets colder I'm wondering if a one piece body suit isn't a bad idea.
Thoughts? Suggestions? Ideas? Instagram treats? :dunno
