Anyone fitted a gear selector indicator to a Tuono? My dealer tried for 8 hours to fit a Datatool unit to my 07 Factory but it would only register 5 gears. They tried phoning Aprilia & Datatool without any luck :bawling

i could be wrong but i thought you couldnt get one to work because the sreedo is digital and the rev counter is analog, and they both need to be digital to work.

my mate fitted one to his gen 1, dont know what type it was tho. dont recall him having any bother...

There are destructions for fitting to the older RSV's but it seems to be a no no for the 'new' shaped V twin unless some clever person knows otherwise?

I've got an Acumen on my Tuoldo and it was fine till I fitted a 16T sprocket and now it just throws up random gear numbers. Tried looking oan the tinternet but it looks like I would need a PHD in electronics:no

What the fook does anyone need with a gear indicator?I've never needed one in 33 years of road riding. To me they are a waste of money and a distraction.
You should be able to feel what gear you need by revs, speed, engine note, etc.

This was KB,....in the Fens,....6.30pm,....grumpy old git.

A gear indicator you say !

What a fantastic idea...

i normally just look in a shop window as i,m passing.

Does this gypsy indicator tell you if you look a **** ?

The amount of times i,ve turned out fer a blast with the lads, only fer one of em to say " ****** ell gaz, yuv turned out in a frock again" ....

you do feel a little silly, but hey ho, we,ve all done it........................................ no ?

Hey KB ya grumpy old git! Surely at some point you've done like everybody else on here and tried to change up from top? Or is it just me? :dunno:crazy

Only ride on the track, riding on the road only teaches you to go slower. You come on a forum looking for help & all you get is a tosser with 33 years road riding experience giving you crap. Take your panniers & Baglux & put them on a BMW where they belong. To the rest of you gents thanks for your input
See you at Cadwell, Mallory or Oulton Park in Sept, I will be the one on the Tuono Factory
End of thread

Kind of shot yersel in the foot track boy.

Yer cammy even tok lite.

T5ONO

ok pal, now dont this as all negative, you come on here as you said and ask for help or advice, put yourself over as an experienced track mon and ask, in my opinion a rather silly question, ask silly questions, get silly comments ... that fair to you ?

i have thought now, that maybe as a track rider i,m missing something here, as you all know i spend my riding time on road, very very little track time..

so ! i ask your question to a couple of racers i know .. and guess what ?

i got called a ****.

i got called this on your behalf T5ONO , so i do hope you appreciate everyones efforts on here, and think before you label us all as tossers !!!

garry, i wis drawn to the post from elsewhere and looked at it in a different mode.
