Hi guys as per the title I'm trying to install a Koso gear position indicator on my 2007 Gen 2 Tuono R, doing a search I discovered some people have successfully done this but mine is just a random number generator, I've picked up the speedo pulse from the rear wheel sensor and connected to one of the large yellow wires from the generator for the tacho pulse, I'm guessing the generator output put isn't a clean signal and this is where my problem lies. Has anyone got one working OK and if so where did you connect to please ? I know many people don't like these gadgets but I'm afraid I'm a gadget freak and want one on my T...cheers guys Daz

Sorted it now so if anyone else fancies one of these on their T here is how I wired mine, The speedo feed was picked up from the rear wheel sensor, I connected to the grey/white wire from this sensor ( connection made within the rubber boot above the clutch, whilst there I also picked up a switched 12v from the brake switch connection) Neutral connection was made by splicing into the black wire that comes direct from the sensor (by the gear change lever) the tacho feed was found on pin 33 grey/red within connector B under the seat (ECU). Contrary to what I've read my indicator works perfectly regardless of revs and updates instantly when a new gear is selected.....Daz

oh forgot to mention the one I have has an inbuilt shift light, I've set this to 1000 RPM below the existing one on the bike so it works as a pre shift light.....a bit like what the Formula 1 boys have hehehehehe

Great to see you answered all your own questions :thumbup
I love my gear indicator and think they are very useful, no accidental downshift to 1st gear on approach to roundabouts etc

Great job ;) I often wondered about Installing one of these but they seem such a fiddle what with splicing wires all over the place :( I might do some more research on one for a gen 1. It's a shame they aren't plug and play as more modern bikes / fitments seem to be these days.

Hi Tuono kid during my research to find my gen 2 wiring I found this infor for the gen 1 hope it helps :-

Tacho pulse Grey/Violet Loom to back of clocks.

Speedo pulse Blue/Orange Loom to back of clocks.

Neutral Brown Loom to back of clocks.

Ignition supply Green Loom to back of clocks.

Earth Dark Blue Loom to back of clocks .

My indicator kit came with scotch lock splicing fittings, these are OK, or for a more permanent fitting you can cut the wire and make a soldered joint and protect it with a heat shrink sleave.
