I fitted a 16T front sprocket this week, which if i'm honest, totally transformed the ride and made it a much more commuter friendly thing and a tad more exciting to ride, But...

My mate acquired a pair of these (one for my T and one for his RSV-R) for a reasonable 120 Euro's from the main man himself and they arrived in 4 days :thumbup

So, I nailed it into the ECU this morning, set the trim pots and bleeds and went for a hoon (when i've got time i'll set it up properly with a gas analyser).
I've had my car mapped at least 25+ times and have gotten used to what to expect from this kind of thing. What I didn't expect was the results from just fitting a chip!

**** me sideways!, it's turned the T into some sort of crazy ******* pyschopathic killer ******, which is nice :yes

I know plenty of you guys have had these fitted and know the results, but here's my first impressions anyways..

Pro's
1. No labouring of the engine in any gear
2. Vastly improved throttle response, just a slight touch and it's off like a stabbed rat
3. Wheelies for fun in 1st & 2nd
4. So So smooth throughout the rev range
5. Flat spot at 4/5K gone
6. Can actually use 6th gear below a ton now
7. I've virtually eliminated any front tyre wear

Con's
1. I think I soiled myself* when the rear wheel span up in 3rd today and the bike nearly swapped ends!
2. I was going to mention MPG, but who gives a **** about that.
3. Need to be very aware of just whacking back the throttle now
4. Errrm, can't think of anything else

Bit of a pointless post, but I thought i'd share.

PS

* On closer inspection of my undercrackers, I did in fact soil myself! Possibly through the sheer terror or the sheer enjoyment of my new found power or maybe a combination of both, i'm not sure.
Either or, it's the best £50 i've spent on the T.

Piece of piss to fit, I had a few problems with the immobiliser killing power for a few minutes, but otherwise it's the best "bang for buck" modification out there imo :yes

Gen1 only mate.

Actually Keith it now appears he's cracked the GenII ecu as well. Basically he's offering overwrites, and does it without even opening the ecu.
Like you say...he can be contacted via AF1, but look in the GenII section in the forums....he's a clever bastid eh?

Great post sounds like they should come with at least a years supply of undies :whoop

My father in law chipped his Volvo V70.

Raved about it for a couple of months until (probably unrelated) the engine turned itself all upside its head.

TBH ... I'm happy enough with the power available ... smooooothness would be nice though.

Ermmm, buy one then :yes
Seriously though, it's worth every penny for the silky like way it pulls like a train from very low rev's :D + the extra grunt is the icing on the cake.

Best I clean that **** up asap!

I was very generously given a brand new gold Talon 44T rear sprocket by a mate today, So that should make things even more interesting :roost
Should be able to get the front up in 3rd now :)
Any one else running 16/44 on a chipped T?

I've covered several hundred miles now with the Gabro chip fitted and I must say it's properly transformed the bike in every way, best of all is that I can let it idle from cold at 900rpm without using the choke at all (much more neighbour friendly :yes )
The other day I fitted my rear Talon 44T and...

Jeeeeeeesus H Christ!!! It certainly livens up the ride to work at 6:30 in the morning! Quite possibly the best hangover cure ever invented
Several times i've had the front up in 3rd (which is nice).
And to top it all, i was chatting to our accountant who has a Gixxer K7 and he said he had a nearly new pair of Michelin Power one's gathering dust in his garage and I could have them for nowt :biggrin I usually run Pilot Power 2ct's but these are head and shoulders above and really do grip like **** to a blanket, although they may be a bit interesting in the wet!

Happy happy days of T ownership for me at the mo :drool Loving every ****** minute :biggrin

Your right about the grip, you won't get any in the wet.
Other than that yeeeeeeeeeha

This brings up a question for me...
My new-to-me has the Akrapovic full 2-2 system with the Akrapovic chip.
Has anyone gone from this set up to the Gabro and are the results as, um, exciting?

I should add that I'm pretty pleased with the fueling and performance of the current set up but more power is more power!
Cheers,
-John

Got a 04 factory here to full system akra twin cans k and n and gab chip . The change you get over standard or akra chip is unbelievable just as jonty said in the first post. Not sure if you get more power mine has 127 and 84lb/ft never had it dynoed in standard trim.
