But on a positive note, it is possibly the best sounding 28mpg you are likely to hear!

I would say the same of my twin, diminishing economy is equal to exhaust volume which is exponential to the smile on my mush :lol

Can now update after a trip to Le Mans fir motogp. In anticipation of been stranded and out if fuel, the whole trip around 1400 miles in total was planned religiously via fuel stations...... That and a mate had a couple of plastic fuel cans with 2litres of fuel just in case lol. To say it amazed me was an understatement. We stopped regularly fir fuel to be on the safe side but at each stop I was only putting in between one and one and a half litres of fuel in the Tuono more than my brother on a 13 reg repsol 600 and mate on an 11 reg z1000sx. The best I got was 137 miles befire light and managed to get 16.5 litres in at 147 miles. So quite decent on a run but still feel a lot if town use hammers consumption

137 miles ...... were you pushing the fooker there !!!
I cant get anywhere near that sort of milage

I've a 12' model with the smaller tank and get about 100 miles to the reserve ( refill is almost always 11.5L so 39mpg ) then easily another 15-20 on that....even from empty never managed to get 16.5 litres into the tank...about 15L seems the limit
The extra litre on the 14' will give about 8-10 miles more at best.
At a sustained speed it does do better....steady motorway 70 and its displaying about 45mpg

Can you tell me what it was like comfort wise on your long run. I currently have 02 RSV and it's great on long trips. I want to go to a 12 or 14 Tuono and want to get some feed back from people that have done some long miles in the saddle on one. Any info is much appreciated. Cheers.

Comfort was fine allowing for standard screen and dynamics of a naked bike. Coming back we did 170 miles in France then 340 in UK all in same day and was really less uncomfortable than I envisaged. Only bike I've had that was more comfortable was a1200 Multi.
