only reason i ask is aprilia had issues with splitting or loose fuel pick up pipes in the tank that gave reduced fuel pressure when tank was low and the split exposed but was better with a full tank. By adding quick start you are just adding an ignition source, eg fuel

wasn't known to be an issue with the 2000 bikes but it's possible. Sounds like when you are calling for more fuel under hard load she ain't getting it. What's charging voltage like on the dash ?

You also mentioned side stand switch and neutral issues ? They are in an earth loop with the safety circuit so you might be getting an ignition cutout with vibration if there is a problem. It's certainly not good that your neutral light is on all the time.

I'm with spoozthis 1 m8 if your neutral is on constant there is deffo probs ther in the circuit which I would say is favourite to causing your stalling woes......leccy issues are a bit of a mare but be patient an go through it with a fine tooth comb and you should find the prob :biggrin

It might also be worth a punt m8 to run some injector cleaner through your system if its been standing any length of time as it was hesitant to start with sommat a bit stronger the petrol!!! Just a thought.....

Does the fact that the pump runs ok when wired to a battery directly mean its ok or is it possible that its fooked?

Guy's thanks for all the help but I think I have come to the end of my skill in trying to fix this bike so she has been sent of to a bike mac for a good decent looking at!!

Am finally getting somewhere.Got a sparky to check the fuel pump and the green live wire was the fault.Replaced pump(excited by now)ignition on,pump whirred, starter pressed.......kin awfull stink of petrol!!!!! Its coming from where the fuel pressure regulator screws to the throttle bodies.Ive take the regulator off and assume you should be able to suck or blow through it but its solid.Strange that this should happen just after a pump replacement?Oh and yes its the correct pump.Any help with this ongoing saga as my temporary excitement has has driven me to tears.

Ok start from the premise that I know very little and take what I say with a pinch of salt and you won't be far wrong but try disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes and it should reset an ECU. Works on VW Audi then start from scratch. Try with the ignition on and see if you can get file moving winding the throttle and then try starting. Don't get frustrated and give it loads just half to full on the starter / choke. Add some redex first though
