Front - strange feeling

Ahm like that in the car 180 min....ramp the radio richt up so ah dinnae hear yon buggered wheel bearin! oota sight oota mind sorto phylosophy!

OK, so the noise is the disks...that's actually a good noise with floating disks.
So how is it riding now?
Does the front still feel vague?
At one stage my front felt as if it was tipping in on slower corners, and almost felt like something was bent. I found that the tyre had only lost a few pounds and pumping it up made it feel better.
I have recently fitted a new pair of BT23's and the difference in handling over my original almost on the limit Sportsmax was quite surprising.

even with correct tyre pressure it feels a bit vague; to be honest I haven't setup the suspension since I got the bike (previous rider was a bit heavier) maybe I'm starting to feel that. I hope Gav from AP forum will host Griffs visit in Kent next month where it can be setup by Griff-master ))

just a quick update; answer from Southern Cross Motorcycles was: steering head bearing and rear shock linkage bearing and I was a bit surprised with the cost )) nearly £400. Has anyone had experience with this?

Jesus, when you see that a car has been driven by a woman (one careful lady driver) advertised you'd think it better to buy a car like that. Saying that the female that had your bike before you must have fecking ragged it for the steering bearings and rear shock linkage to have gone with only a few thousand miles on the clock eh!!!!

its more than few...21K at the moment and I guess it is more london roads and suspension setup to blame, but of course she went to Nurburgring and IoM few times

Wasn't our mate Evlin was it lol. Now that is one fast female rider. I've seen a woman on a top notch Ducati ride slow as. In fact someone on a 125 scooter could have prob gone quicker. Evlin is **** hot fast though.

Southern Cross are as highly regarded as Griff, so if they are telling you it's headstock, I would be inclined to believe them. They can be replaced DIY, but you need specialist tools and it's quite a big strip down/build up. Most of that bill is going to be labour for dismantling the front end and rebuilding it etc. The linkage bearings are a pretty straight forward and I would imagine quite cheap.

aprox. £175 headstock and £195 linkage
Surprising. I would have considered the linkage a pretty easy swap, the headstock can be a bit of a ******* if the bearings don't seat etc.
Are they including the shock linkages in that I wonder?

might be worth doing the headstock first and seeing if that cures it?

Worth the money imho, sounds like good service. How many garages would even bother to look round the back when you went in with front end trouble ???
If they replaced the dog bone their about 80 +++ etc quid alone.

2 highly qualified Tuono poster there Dimania. I wouldn't question what Nob and Bat said. Between them what they don't know about T's prob aint worth knowing. Pays yer money and go ride it like you stole it afterwards. Its worth the money just for the enjoyment it gives you to ride the big twins. Mmmmmmm now my minds all over the place. Riding big twins. Rrrrrrrr mamma!!!!

So let me get this straight. You're enthusiastic about bats ****. Nob I knew you were weird but come on now thats just stooling too low

Ok, buy the bearing kit and take it to them or any other Aprilia dealer. THEN see how much the bill is.
Or do it yourself like I'm doing in a couple of weeks with the Fuono when I have about 3-4 hours to spare. It's a shity awkward job as well tbh.
Sometimes you just have to accept the costs mate, and at least then you know it's been done correct and safely.
S/C have a good reputation.

Bat ***** a bit of a delicacy in rural Manchester, best taken with oysters and Samuel Smith's best stout.
