Aye up,

Still laid up with the old broken leg so got me a 15t front sprocket to fit, but can anyone point me in the direction of a how to? or mind writing a quick one? i've looked in the how to section and couldnt see one but it seems a pretty common mod

cheers guys

You might have to take bellypan off depending on how patient you are.

Undo the 3 sprocket cover bolts, ask someone to put back brake on and undo main drive bolt to loosen, undo rear bolt and slide rear whell forward to get chain slack. pull front sprocket off ( I think for a 17t sprocket you might have to take side sprocket cover off) slip new one on with chain on, apply threadlock to the centre bolt and torque to 50 ( again check this in the haynes manual. clean and grease chain and go easy to bed in sprocket.

Easy mod to do ( if i can do it then anyone can)

I'm about to do this as well, what sort of threadlock do I use and do I put some on the rear sprocket bolts as well? I've been told that the rear sprocket bolts can shear or wear, is that likely?

just did mine yesterday, any standard thread lock will do, there's no real force against the bolt, the splines take the grunt.

For the rear sprocket, either use new locknuts, or use threadlock on the old

cheers
