front sprocket change

hi guys finaly got the weather to do the change today. do i need to take the rubber cusions off the original sprocket and fit to the new?
i have a new aprilia one but it does not have these on

Are you on about the cush-drive rubbers on the rear??? If so, yep swap them over (as long as they're not damaged)

No. sorry did not explain my self very well the old sprocket has like a rubber part on both sides. i cant seem to get it off any way so have just fitted the plain sprocket.

I replaced my front which didn't have the rubber on, i think they're all like that (aftermarket ones)
 
WTF is this rubber then?

I'd want my sprocket to be metal to metal on the faces otherwise you could end up with the sprocket flexing laterally.

And that would not be good news for alignment or chain wear rates.
 
The oem sprocket had a rubber cushion both sides on mine, the replacement Talon was bare metal.
