hi guys ive had new head bearings fitted and ive got new pads but under brakeing ive got a donk and under hard brakin from say 99mph(OFFICER)..ive got a shudder ......could it be fork bushes as its not discs or head bearing ....cheers lads..mark

are you sure it's NOT head bearings, sounds to me they have seated and bedded in now, and need the free play taking up. Do you know how to check for freeplay properly as it will cause premature wear to them if they arn't right, let alone screw up the handling of these fine beasts :biggrin

Also check that your disc rotor buttons are not siezed..they must turn easily. The bobbins was my source of mind blowing shudder under heavy braking from 260kph :)

lads thanks will look at both those but have had the bearins nipped up after a month so hope its the rotars...cheers... if your not crashin your not tryin.....

My waveys don't do anything weird apart from stop the bike from any speed, and look good :biggrin

i'll let you know tomorrow when i get her back out the garage, she's been sulking in there cos the bit i need for the clutch didn't arrive on friday, so will be in tomorrow i hope, and then i will have a looksy for you.

Mine definatley do not judder at any speed, or lack of it though :biggrin

I`ve got Galfer wavies on mine & there fine until i get down to about 15 mph. Then it shudders.Maybe the pads.

childs mark sounds like discs to me - did similar on my blade - put new fancy wavey discs on - from galfer which are supposed to be a reputable company / supply racers - however once fitted one side seemed to rub with pads- took it too my my mate who used to mechanic for mr john mcguiness and he said most aftermarket discs do this for quite a while - if i ever have to go for new discs again i gonna go for oem stuff - brembo's

cool, thought it weird it happened after new head bearings, and you saying they were right. Checked my discs, and they dont say who made them, so can't tell you which ones i have that don't clonk :biggrin
