Seal lip will always be lowest on a usd fork and open end with seal spring on the internal side of the fork. You will need to source or make a seal driver to re seat a new seal properly if it's a showa fork.
Stock oil is 10w but set oil amount via air gap not volume. You almost never get all of the residual oil out of the cartridge etc so there could be 10cc hidden around the internals and you will overfill as a result if you use volume alone.
Air gap is usually 80 -120mm ish depending on your weight and riding. The bigger the air gap the slower the rise in the damping rate as the fork compresses so a lighter/gentle rider will want less oil and vice versa. If your unsure go in the middle of the range.
