Right after a bit of googling im still none the wiser.
Looking at some adjustable clipons for my 2003 Rsv fitted with the Showas and seem to think they are 53mm mounting and the Ohlins are 51mm mountings but the ones i am looking at are advertised as 52mm!!!!!!!!!!!

Thought so,so don't know where the 52mm bit comes from.

i'm gonna throw this randomly out there. 52mm may be the closed interioir diameter of the clipons your looking at. in other words, they need to be smaller than the forks they are going on so that they still bite and arent loose. does that make sense? anybody?
