Guys my little babay is for sale
Reason - i've never quite jelled with the bike, had my fair share of problems (all now resolved).
I don't get to ride her for fun that often so its a waste of money having such alovely machine for commuting mainly with the odd blast...
as we all know they're not the most comfortable to commute on so i'm thinking of going the Tuono route
The straw that broke the camels back was - went out with the missus on Sunday about 3 1/2 hours and she was in agony....
i want something we can both enjoy and i can commute on and have the odd blast out

She's for sale on here first for £4300 if anyone is interested, let me know, otherwise she goes in MCN next week for £4500

I am not including the Akra pipes as they are 3 weeks old and cost £500 so if you want them as well i will want another £300 which is bloody cheap..

She's had uprated gold OZ wheels put on and had fork seals, major serviice and rear suspension link upgraded with AF1 plates
She's done 10,000 miles and has 5 months tax and 11 months MOT

There is a tiny mark on the tank from an off, but is hardly noticeable, i will add a photo of it tonight whan i get home to a camera

Let me know if you need any more info - there is no rush on my part she will be advertised till sold with no reduction in prica as this is riducously cheap as you all know

Tuono ya say...certainly alot more upright for riding two up..hope yer get the bikkies yer want for yours and pick up a fine Tuono ol mate :thumbup

other than your comfort from the higher bars, I cant imagine swimbo will find the back seat any different ,cos they are the same, and so is the bike essentially. I suggest you buy her a bike(or scooter) it certainly shut mine up!!!. The thing I love about my mille (YM obviously differs but... its great (for) me for a commute, scratch or a tour to a european motogp round, or round the track..and I have done all the mods(including a sargent seat-which is more comfortable.
Good luck with yer search, hopefully you will stick with rsv's, they are great when you really gel with them.
thought about a BMW or harley LOL (joking)
cheers Ck

Sorry to see you are selling up bro.
It's a lovely bike you got there and someone is gonna get a bargain.
Good luck with what ever bike you get next:thumbup

i dont really want rid - i want to gel with her like i did my old R1......

if she sells she sells - if not, in the mean time i'll keep trying to get her dailed in....

some bloody dry weather would help

Swap the wife for one that thinks it's comfy and keep the bike it's a beauty :biggrin

think its cost me a lot more in the long run but managed years a go to convince my missus that she's more comfortable sat on a horse than on the back of a bike. result is were both a lot happier.....who'd have guessed the the best handling mod for an rsv would be a leather saddle!!!!!

good luck dude,bike looks fantastic.
have you tried the original mille, large pillion seat, more room comfort than the newer model to,could be just the job mate,my mrs says its very comfy on the back.

she complains more about how high her feet are

for the ammount she's on it, i could cope if i could just get at one with it myself

gonna put the sale on hold, gonna sort the suspenders good and proper this weekend then give her another go.....

cos toi be honest i was thinking Hayabusa - if i changed

but i love her like a mangy old dog so i'm gonna persevere lol

One more point - pu the price of deisel back up - cos the ammount of deisel currently on our roads cos of nit wits filling to the brim before the price goes back up is horrendeous
does nowt for your confidence

considered the hypersports myself before the mille,
prefer the zx12 to the hayabusa myself, would have to be green tho.
fantastic engine in the busa, goes like stink, but only a mother could love a face like that.

imagine the arm strain hussling one of them about --with a pillion on as well. Fine in a straight line..but down the twisties?
Fook that. I'l stick with a bike that handles not a behemoth that destroys tyres in 50 miles LOL.
That bike looks slightly melted like its been in the sun too long, you would be better with the zzr12

Is it me or is there more than one way to read this?

:devious:whipping:tongue

Hope ya dont sell her Agreat1, I know you've had a boat load of problems with her, as I've read them all on here and kept my fingers crossed that it doesn't happen to mine. My last bike was a zx7rr and it was absolutely planted I've never riden anything with such a confidence inspireing front end, I used to get my knee down all over, and then I bought the RSV, and just dont have the confidence with it now, which is depressing when you see ya mates doing it but ya cann't join in lol. To be honest I thought about getting rid a few times but then got the suspension set up by a pro at AMR Racing, got some cracking Maxxis supermaxx sports put on and dropped a tooth on the front sprocket, I'm now starting to get used to her a bit more and enjoying riding more. My next task I think is to drop the forks through the yoke another ring to try and get more weight on the front, I know it will turn in faster but the weight on the front will make the handling better I think, the only thing I dont like now is the height I wish I could lower her more. I really hope ya dont sell Agreat1, maybe some of the things I've mentioned might help, the biggest bonus I've got to admit has been the tyres for me.:thumbup

zx7's are fantastic bikes,i love em,and prefer em to the gixer srad 750 anyday.
sound fantastic,go like stink and look the dogs in green.
as you say,the front feels unmovable on em.

my mille has never felt ewt but fantastic and confidence inspiring tho compared to my last 2 r1's.
can understand where agreat1 is coming from, sometimes you just dont get on with a bike and it spoils the whole ownership thing.
and although most probs can be sorted, once its in your head, youll probably never gel with the bike, its more psycological than ewt else imo, same with tyres .
if you think theyre ****,everytime you go out, youll constantly be thinking your gunna come a roy cropper.

I have to say my 04 bike was much harder to dial in than my 2000 Mille.

Out of the crate it was bit scary when you pushed on. Now it's pretty much on rails and only upset by the nastiest of roads.
I could certainly see why someone might lose faith in it. Obviously different size people will have a difference experience with the standard setup.

so what i've done to the rear is add a little pre-load (will be double checking rider sag on sat when i can a pair of hands to help) and backed off compression to 14 clicks out and added rebound to 10 clicks out

gonna give it a whirl tomorrow and sat - will let you all know when i've got her feeling better - what worked

Ya not wrong BIG UN, I miss the ZX7, it's like I said though about the knee down thing, I have managed it twice on the RSV but then dropped her, but I blamed the tyres, now I think it's the height thing and the weight on the front, but I'll get there in the end.

To be honest mate I haven't got a clue about suspension or how to set it up, I just go with the feel of the bike, and then told Simon and he sorted it out lol. But like Spoonz said he was lucky with his bike and the standard setting, I got my bike second hand though and who ever had it before me had made a right mess of it, both forks were completley different settings rebound, compression etc, so I didn't have a clue. Just waiting to see what dropping the forks will do, I have been told by Simon at AMR who club races the rsv, that you've really got to man handle it about and keep ya weight on the front
