Hello , New Day New Drama , Today was my first time out in the dry , bike started perfect , was warm about 80 ° c water temp had covered about 3 Km , then I started to open it up in third , it just cut out like it had no spark or fuel , it didn't even stutter just dead , pulled clutch in, rolled to a stop , bike started straight away, tried again this time in 2nd same result like a plug chop at about 5 k , must be some sort of sensor fault but nothing in the diagnostic , anyone had this ? , cheers Mark R

I've had a similar thing happen to me. As I changed up gear and with my foot still under the gear lever in anticipation for the next up shift, the engine will cut momentarily. I thought it may be my foot catching the lever. However after trying to consciously create this scenario without success I'm not so sure. I've also checked and cleaned the side stand switch which can be a culprit.
My bike is a late 2012 model and it has been updated with the latest software/maps

thanks Derick , my Gen 2 does not have a quick shifter , so my foot on the gear lever would not cut the ignition , I think its more like a sensor not sending a signal to the ECU to fire the Injectors

Make sure the engine vertical position/crash sensor under seat is in situ, and not fallen out of its rubber holder. Sounds like it could be something like that lose, which moves as you accelerate/brake, etc!

thanks Paul I will have a look tomorrow just has to be some sort of cut out as it stops so quickly , not even a cough or a splutter , cheers Mark R

this is a distinct possibility due to you fitting a taller battery as per your other posts mate as the same happened to mu old gen 2. good luck

Hello again, Sun had its hat on today, I looked at the tip over switch , it looked Ok, so I removed it , went out on the bike with service and red triangle on, but it ran perfect , so came back shook it about a bit , cleaned the connectors , it didn't have an arrow on it showing which way up so I fitted it as it was , , and went out again , problem gone!!!! so thanks guys , Happy camper , Mark R
