Fitting Clip-ons - no bolt to top yoke?

Have acquired a pair of Gilles Vario Clip-ons and keen to get them fitted (2003 RSV Mille R).
As well as being clamped to the forks I notice the standard bars also bolt to the underside of the top yoke. The Gilles bars don't appear to bolt to the yoke, is this right - will the bars be OK just clamped to the fork legs if torqued to spec??

My left standard clip-on aint bolted to the top yoke and i've had no problems with it working lose or anything.

The small bolt on the OE clip ons are really only there to set the angle on the bars, not to hold them in place.

Just measure the distance from the both clip ons to a fixed point to set the angles.
