So what just exactly is the Renegade Kit , and where do you get them?

sandy v2

renegade is an open airbox conversion....does away with the sealed unit ....renegades are quite rare as they have stopped making them i'm sure...best option is to buy a hooked airbox....better specced than the renegade and a better fit...see the for sale thread:thumbup

got a hooked box too so noisy :inlove

how about changing your gearing....16 or 15 tooth front ? £20 well spent

I got Renegades kit. Third gear flat out... all my problems and the voices in my head simply vanish.

I worry about the voices in your head!!!
They tell you to bunny hop of kirb stones at 80mph,
they tell you to ride like a nutter.......tell me were you born with these voices??? or can we buy them from somewhere? :devious

I bought an airbox filtery kit thingy from RSV.net....

Nothing more than an aluminum ring, rubber seal and cone filter! Cost a blimmin' fortune!

I fitted this to my 2003 RSV along with an 'early model collector box', and then gave it a race can & Dr Rossi chip.

Are these kits similar to the renegade jobbies? I'm not interested in spending anymore on the bike so will just have to put up with what I have, but would be interested to know if it's the same?

PS I dyno'd the bike as standard at 120.4bhp on an optimistic dyno- should I expect to see much more power now?

basically you bought a sealedd airbox kit , so you remove the top of the airbox..fit your kit this then seals on the tank and uses the additional space as the airbox...bigger volume = more power ...remember to remove the fom from the tank as you dont want any of that sucked into the engine

renegeade /hooked box does away with the sealed airbox and is basically a plate that sits on the throttle bodies and holds a huge foam filter over the throttle bodies...makes one hell of a noise

sealed are better for topend performance where as the hooked kits are for more low down and midrange

i know you dont want to spend anymore but spend 15-20 quid on a 15 or 16 tooth front sprocket...well worth it

Thanks for that- I have already fitted that stuff, probably back in May.

I only had the bike standard for about 10 days. I fitted chip, can, airbox kit, collector and lowered the gearing at the same time +1 back, -1 front.

The bike felt more lively, but I couldn't say what was power or just lower gearing. Should've gone for a 15t sprocket rather than 16t though...

Pleased to hear the kit should help top end, I prefer top end over mid range anyday.
