The side stand is in a really odd place compared to everything else I've ridden. Have knocked it into 1st twice now when trying to put the side stand down. To make matters worse it seems to have reset the electric on both occasions (mph to kph, red line and clock). Any ideas why it would do this? Anyone modded the stand?

Loads modded the stand mate. 04-07 blade stand, US Tuono stand or bubseywoo eBay special. Been some mixed opinions of bubsey stand tho.
Mine standard but yes have to be really careful putting stand down & where you stop as lean angle less than all other bikes that I have owned anyway.

Fireblade stand for me H, :thumbup No extra lean angle but deffo more solid than standard. Loads more confident when walking away from the bike. Not worrying "is it gonna be upright when I get back ?" Ring round some breakers, mine was 30 quid posted, a small price to pay for peace of mind! :yes

btw, any ideas why it would reset the electrics? is it a sign of a weak battery? went for a good run on it today, but not been able to turn the lights off means i can't give the battery that extra vavavoomm when needed.

Agree on the blade stand, the elctrics has me foxed tho. With a bit of luck a brain box will come along with an answer

My T has a battery of dubious origin (now 14 months old) ... so much so that Griff asked "where the **** have you had that from?" and yet even after a month and without the optimate ... she starts first press every time.
Others seem to have Amp-Hour gremlins sucking the life blood out of their bikes every time they park up?

I've done the same H, now a make sure a pull the clutch in first.
@Newelly -Not sure what the battery is, but touch wood she starts first time every time and that last owner never used an optimate (he'd never even lifted the passenger seat in the whole time he had it!)

yep had same probs with stand 1st one bent after bein strapped down on ferry 2nd is to uprite rite ****** if slightly on slant or ickle hill 2 m8`s have had stands break not good eh ? but may look at blade one cheers fella worth £30 just for piece of mind ;-)

hi hutch, are you sure you've bought the right stand, you seem to of bought an 08-10 stand where as the correct stand is ment to be an 04-07,
as for falling over mine hasn't, i threw it into a hedge then up the road at 60mph and then 12months later picked up a main bearing and trashed the motor costing me £1900 to repair but i still love the thing

Hey CTD. Haven't brought anything from SP yet, but have been in and said hello and I'm sure I'll be calling in from time to time, but I do try and do most stuff myself. Yeah, your right about the stand. Not sure if I can make it fit without too much agro, which is a shame cause I kinda liked the look of the 2010 blade stand, oh well....
I've not long been down this way. Maybe swing by and take a run down to cornwall one of the days if you fancy a bit of a blast?

Not really looked at it properly as I'm working nights. Shall have a better look on thursday. Doesn't look like the original Honda bracket will fit, but the stand it self should fit with a spacer maybe. Though to be honest I might just put it back in ebay and get an earlier one.
