First dumb question

Picked up my new (to me) 07 R model last night and put it straight into the garage thanks to the very english weather.:doh

Anyway the first dumb question is -

can the gear shift be reversed, by that I mean put to race shift ?

I use race shift on the track bike and its going to mess with my head alternating between the two.

I've searched on here and found nothing.

A look on the aprilia site lists a linkage for Â£280 to enable this. :eek

A new linkage is about the only way to do it. You might check with AF1racing for an alternative. I know what you mean though. I used to ride a Bultaco years ago with right foot shift. It took me forever to get used to it.

I believe some of the rearsets available offer that option.

Thanks guys, it looks like its rearsets or the aprilia part, pretty much the same pricing by the looks of it, but has to be done or I'm going to hurt myself switching between the two !

Better do it then. I l know I'd never switch from the usual street pattern for that exact reason. Don't want to :kicknuts myself. :crazy

+1 mate... I used to have reverse shift on my old R1 race bike, and the first time I took my new (to me...) FZ1 (conventional shift) out into the canyons, I blew a near-redline shift, and almost spit the ***** :eek

Better safe than sorry, I say...
