Hi all, i haven't been on here for quite sometime, i think it was around 2011 when my last Tuono 1000R V2 was written off, i have now returned to the Tuono with the V4 ABS, i picked it up a couple of weeks ago, it took some time as i have been building up my NCB so i could afford the insurance on th V4, all i can say is WOW, a lot more bike than my old 1000R V2, anyway i thought i would return to the forum and post some pics.

Welcome back, great bike, I have'nt changed the exhaust yet as the standard one sounds great

Thanks for the warm welcome back, getting another Tuono was just a matter of time, the Tuono V4 is in another league.

I haven't ridden the V4, but have always loved V twins for the engine braking and torque, have owned plenty of inline 4's and one honda V4 but always came back to the twin.

so what so you like better about the engine, I get that it's way faster, and with the change in time lighter and better handling, but I wonder about the V4 vs V2 experience.

My local dealer was trying to sell me a V4, and I mentioned that I liked the twin, his response was that most guys he knows that upgrade still won't part with the good ol' V2

I wouldn't be so sure the V4 handles better than the V2...especially vs a V2 Factory....i've got both and until now the V2 Fact handled a lot better...now the V4 has the forks reworked with lighter oil to the proper level and a 2nd hand RSV4 Ohlins shock and its just got the V2 Fact beat.
Engine wise its all about the upper revs for the V4...it just keeps going to the redline when the V2 is gasping....V4 for most riders needs the APRC system...I made the mistake last week of turning the Wheelie control off and tonight on a back road that i was enjoying a bit too much she completely lifted the front to eye level over the brow of a hill...for 3 years i'd always had the wheelie control on 2 but tonight was a full on underwear change moment.
The V2 lets you use whats its got....the V4 finds out what size balls you've got and i absolutely love it.....best fun factor sports bike there is

The V4 doesn't run out of steam in the higher rev range when the V2 starts to gasp, the power delivery is smoother and i think that makes it easier to ride at low speeds, the V4 goes mental at 7-8000 rpm and it keeps pulling to the redline, it also seems to have as much engine braking as the V2, or at least very close, the thing is, you really need to ride the V4 to find out what it's capable of.
