Finally - New exhaust on way

I could be wrong here but i was under the impression there was no longer any need for exhausts to be stamped with the bs marks, only exhausts that are stamped "not for road use" i.e full on race cans, were illegal

I doubt they could refuse a claim based on a noisy exhaust. I've yet to hear it happen and they would have to prove that the noisy exhaust contributed to the accident otherwise a bike with a small number plate would also invalidate your insurance.

Just tell your insurers you have fitted an aftermarket can (shouldn't affect your premium) and go and make some noise. Job done.

Pretty much everyone with aftermarket cans runs 'em with the baffles out ('cept me 'cos my Mivvs are bleedin loud with them in!). No great issues with insurance that I've ever heard about.

Did a bit of research earlier & baffles in/out didn't seem to matter. Lot more concern over stamping of cans or not & race use only etc etc.

Ho hum, after years of loud cans [akrapovics n termis] I have had the bike remapped and fitted the std exhausts back on. For now anyway.
Got fed up of being a cash cow for the welsh cops and lining their coffers. The locals at the bike meet I frequent, think I've lost the plot.
You know for once, I really am pleased with the quieter, more refined way the bike sounds. Please dont all slap me at once, but anyone else
tried this.

Yep me, I had the baffles at the weekend. Just took em back out. The Welsh feds are a bit more relaxed these days apparently.
