After a week of solid rain, I finally got out on my new acquisition last night. And it appears I have some work to do.
First off, the high beam doesn't work, hit the button and I was plunged into darkness
. Nor does the speedo light. And it's hard to find neutral with a hot engine, isn't it?
The suspension's all to ****. No static sag at all on the back, too much on the front, and front and rear settings completely at odds with each other. No problem though, just a bit of tinkering.
My biggest problem was getting my feet on the pegs. Now I'm a middle aged man, and no lightweight, but by the time I got my feet on the pegs and leant forward to reach the bars I could bearely breathe! I'm informed the pegs are from an RSV-R, and may have a little adjustment, I'll take a look, but if anyone wants to swap a pair of standard pegs and hangers, I'm your man:colgate
But just when I was wondering why I bought a sportsbike at my age, I turned onto an empty road and grabbed a handful of throttle, and it all came flooding back.
