i know both answers are prob gonna be yes but can anyone clarify by roughly how much

is the factory more expensive to service?

and is it more to insure?

on the insurance note im 27, with 2 years no claims.

and its on a post 2003 bike, new shape.

£8000 for a factory..what a joke!! cheapest one was £1300 and £1000 for a standard one.

only bad thing ive done is fault claim fro a grand 3 years ago.

i got a quote on a standard one over the phone few months ago for £400,

think il just call some places nearer to the time

Crikey seems alot, i pay £237 fully comp £300 excess through H&R on my RSV Mille R

prob my age, and only 2 years licence going against me.

like i say had some quotes around the £400 mark few months ago so when the time comes i should be ok.

it will be matey, if you have already made a claim in the two years that you have had a liscence... yer gonna get stung. Get the std one or the RSVR and modd it up and dont tell them!
cheers Ck

I know what yer saying CK but if it all goes wrong it could end in tears insurance wise:dunno I am no expert on this but I know how the buggers try to wriggle out of paying up. Say you knock some old biddy over on a zebra crossing and end up in the *****. If the insurance company spot that supercharger that you never told em about then you are feltched:eek: Thats an extreme example but you know what I mean:eatcorn
On the flip side you can take the gamble and use the money you save on insurance to pimp the bike with that nitrous kit you always wanted:doug
It's your call Mickyboy:thumbup

im just gonna save harder to get what i want, save save save n when i got the cash in the bank il look into the insurance difference between the factory and standard.

either way i still got a bit of saving to go yet......

but i will ave one!

:O)

When I was insuring mine I was asked whether it was the Factory. Daft that it's dearer really, same engine/performance, just got fancy rear shock and wheels! Why's that so much dearer to insure? Unless of course, they are higher risk as more have been involved in accidents/claims ???

Cheapest I found was ebike (online people type insurance thing)

£360 ish and since an online quote I got a voucher for an additional £40 off!!
Top draw. (plus a £40 voucher off for a recommendation for the applicant!)

All online so what the claims dept is like I`ve no idea, but I have no intention of chucking her down the tarmac, I hope I never need to find out:thumbup

Try MCE 08712227920 Cheap even for young humans.
I have just turned the big.. ahem 30... I am paying 215 fully comp on a modded machine with no alarm or immob.

oh look at that... my 100th post.:biggrin
