Hi all
I have a exhuast question:
Is it possible to fit a gen 2 right hand side exhuast can onto gen 1 headers ?

Not a straight fit, the outlet on the gen1header is much bigger than the inlet on a gen2 link pipe.

But it is do-able - I bought a pair of SP engineering Moto GP cans for my gen 1 and just ran the ends of the link pipes over the grinding wheel at work to reduce the diameter! After a bit of banging and swearing I got them on, and well worth the effort once I started it up!!
Not exactly precision engineering I'll admit, but sometimes brute force and ignorance is the way to get things done!!!

If you fitted a pair of cans I take it your not running standard gen1 headers, as these are single can as standard. The outlet on a standard gen1 header is 62mm id and the gen2 link pipe is 56mm od.

Spot on, I used falco headers and link pipes - I thought it would be the simplest way to convert from the dustbin exhaust to a nice twin can system. Only issue I had was that the bellypan didn't fit afterwards - so I taught myself to do fibreglass in the process. Every day's a schoolday!!

Biggest problem I had was getting the cans equal distance out from the centre of the tyre, but some heating and bending of the link pipes cracked it. But that was my last bike, if you look at my pics in the bike pics forum you'll see what happened to it!!
