I have a 2001 1000r with the standard dustbin can. The bike also came with a titanium Arrow can marked Valter moto, an Italian after market firm.
Has anyone heard of these and is it road legal?

I see has it got any other marks at all anywhere!!!!
Judging by what you say u could have a racetrack only (marked can) bummer if you want to get it mot'd!!!

The only other marks are what looks like oak leaves on the rear of the can just above the outlet. Looks like the sort of victory garland they handed out in the old days. Anyway as I have still got the original, then MOTs are not a problem. I read the comments on likely police action if stopped, so not too worried.

By any marks I meant stamps on the can .....bsau etc...conformity to eu standards blah...blahh....

to be honest mate get it M.O.Ted with legal then stick it on after. just depends on police officer i got £30 fine for loud exhaust even tho it passed its M.O.T with it fitted. think it depends what mood they are in

Thanks. Will run it as is and revert to standard at MOT time. When you got your fine did you have to change the can and report back to police.?

Can noise is down to the MOT testers descresion, i've got a local MOT centre run by bikers, never a problem with a race can :)

BTW you can get replacement rivet straps that have a BS number on, off ebay

is your can like mine ?

mine has a removable baffle so ok

if it says not for road use then you may have a mot prob
