G'day RSVRon, I've been lurking on the 2014-2016 Capo forum site and if you sneak a peek on that site you'll find more "expertise"/experiences re; muffler options.
I have a 014 TP and have left the standard can on as my capo performs very well.
I have read that if you swap the can for a non-Arrow brand (Arrow has the ex-up valve) then you get a warning symbol on the dash unless you install a device that takes the place of the valve motor and tricks the ECU into thinking all is normal. Much more info on the other site.......
A word of caution - these exhaust valve cables are very touchy and Must be set using the PADS system - ie you cannot adjust the tension/start position without the software and if you somehow stretch/bump/mess with the cables you will get a warning symbol on the dash and the engine will run hot or may stop at embarrassing times. The joys of hi-tech motorcycles eh?
I'm unsure if anyone has dyno'd before and after on an independent dyno tuner's rig, as I have seen reports from muffler makers claiming power increases on their dyno's (but all dyno's are not equal.......).
Naturally the beast is going to make a hellovaracket once you remove the valve,so your neighbours aren't likely to respect you early in the mornings.....
Do not believe wild horse power claims as this 1200cc V2 only pumps out 125hp at the crank (= 107hp rear wheel ponies). Anyone claiming a gain of more than 5-10 hp with just a muffler swap is playing with their small organ.
Cheers mate - a change of muffler will save about 8kg of weight!
