evo hangers cure this ?

yeah they do nob, at first i thought it was my bad fitting but theres only one way they can fit. Seem to remember keith B having similar problem, or did i imagine that !!

It not just the Leo's that cause this, it happens with a lot of cans. I run aprilia cans on mine and mine developed into more of a gauge than a scuff. I found the only way to solve it was to push the cans a bit further out. As I said before, I did this by a bigger bigger spacer that I made but you could acheive the same effect with a washer or two

tried that but it starts to look a bit crap. what i could do with is some polished spacers about 10/15 mm..

from memory; I made mine 7mm thick. That's with the Aprilia Racing hangers so may be slightly different from the pillion peg hangers

if i go with evo hangers does that mean i have to loose the pillion pegs ?

yes

but I can't think why you could'nt just space them out with the normal pillion pegs

evo hangers and the like are really for looks and a little weight saving

Heres a servin suggestion that ah used once tae solve a simler spacer prob on me GSX14. Ah robbed wan o the bairns skateboards. They have handy 12mm (ish) hard plasticky rubbers in the trucks fur steerin. Perfect size wi the right size hole and dinna rust. Lasted fur the a the years ah hud it nae bother at a.

Dave, did you get the cans second hand ?
Are the straps loose ?
Are the straps symmetrical ?
The straps should be like a 'd' and a 'b' shape, so they put the can away from the swing arm. The hole for the bolt should be off centre.
Probably be something daft but sometimes you just gotta make things 'av it'.

ah well, heres where yours truly comes in..

anybody needing polished alli spacers of any size just drop me a pm..

its winter, i,m bored and have all the milling/lathe tooling in me lab.
i,ve already done loads fer the duc lads who have gone onto rear sets and found they ground the frame..
or yer could stick to using washers, which is very class..

no got them new and everythings tight, i just think the link pipe on the offending side is slightly wrong and not throwing it out enough. Her indoors is quite happy to only go on the back of the st4 so evo hangers are next on my shopping list....

Yeah,my l/h Leo Can fouled the swingarm when I put them on first. After a bit of fookin' about, the penny dropped and I realised that one spacer was thicker than the other. The thicker one went on the left,....and hey presto,....the can cleared.:thumbup
(l/h spacer was about 4mm thicker)
