Possibly buying this machine.
Obviously a 53 plate with 8,000 miles on
But its had 6 owners??
I know how easy it easy, well certainly with other bikes to change clocks, but anyone a previous owner of this machine? its currently down portsmouth way,and was sold 12 months ago by gt motorcycles, just seems a little odd to me,might be totally genuine, who knows, any help much appreciated.:thumbup

unless the lad has service history, old mots to help prove the mileage i wouldnt even consider it. 6 owners in 8 years would worry me buts its up to you.

People chop and change bikes all the time, I bought a 1600 mile bike a year after it came out it already had 2 previous owners and the one your looking at has 6 which is a new owner about every year, would agree thats pretty low miles but just do your checks as per above.

Chain should still be original, it should not really be tatty. If you have a friendly Aprilia dealer they could check the previous times it been in/milage etc.

If it does not have lots of paperwork with it, either avoid or factor that into the price.

i agree, especially with big powerful nakeds like ours, some people love the idea of it but just cant live with the windblast etc !

If the battery has gone completely flat - the dash can totally reset when you restart it. Happened to my brothers Capo a few years back.
Chat up a dealer and get them to check it's history on the Aprilia database.

I chop & change my bikes every year. In the last two years I had a Suzuki DRZ400, K1 GSXR 1000, KTM LC4, Aprilia Dorsoduro, 2 fireblades & a 2005 Tuono fighter. Now down to two bikes a blade & the T.

I just part exed my 2005 fighter for the one I got now. That had about 6 previous owners & about 6500miles when I bought it. Had MOT's to back up mileage, the bike was a minter & what promted me to get my new one. Was given 3K for it. Now up for sale at Millennium motorcycles St Helens for 4.5K, Was featured in motorcycle of the week in MCN never had a single enquiry.

929 Fireblade was a differant story phone never stopped ringing.

Mate
I brought a 53 plate with 7800ish on the clock
And I'm now the 5th owner Didn't have any service history to
Talk of but it had all of it's MOTs. I rang the test stations
And garages to make sure the bike had been through. It's up to you.
You won't be disappointed

at the end of the day its the condition of the bike that matters, the ammount of owners is pretty irrevelant
you could always have one numpty owner or 100 good owners
thats what i always think anyway
its like the myth of the low mileage car (they aint always the best to get)
if the bike is right buy it if it aint dont buy it
