Need some help. Just received a nice new chip to fit and instructions.

Was wondering if anyone local fancied helping me fit this weekend. I know I will end up buggering it up and have no bike for work on Monday :thumbup

Cheers

Its realy not that hard, 5min is all you have to spend.

Find the ecu on the back side, unplug two connectors (one is large, one is not, so no problem which one goes back where :D)

Put the ecu out, unscrew the 4 little screws, make sure you dont damage them otherwise you wont get them out :D, just press hard and turn :).

Then open it, youll see the chip, on one side it has a mark, so you know how to turn it, remember where it is. Get it out with a flat screwdriver, stick it in on the side and turn it and then go on the other side, so that it will slowly pop out.

Put the new chip in, put everything back and thats it :)

It really is quite easy - just take your time.

Make sure you observe which way round the chip goes, and which way in the replacement is going, and take care when taking the original chip out. Pry from one end with a small flat screwdriver, and then the other end so that it comes out at least reasonably straight.

Pat, I might take you up on that offer, working this weekend for the docs at night so might not be able to come saturday.

Might even feel brave and have a go my self. See if I can source a secondhand ECU first just in case :)
