engine damage

Hi Guyz , is it possible to damage an Rsv R engine by push starting , ?:roll:roll

hardly. anyway push starting any injector engine in car is nor recommended in general due to the possibility of belt jump then the valve meeting the piston etc., possibility on damaging the catalyzeur...
i have push started my RSV 3 times. it is a hard job if cold and probably you wont be able to start it by yourself so get some friend or two

i you use a bit of mechanical sympathy no they run a chain for the valve timing so ok there try it in 3rd or 4th but it is hard to do due to the compression and big pistons

ok thanks , yea the damage I have to the engine is the starter clutch/gear , ive come to realise 2day it makes a crunchig sound on pressing the starter button, theres a large gear wheel behind the magnitto/generator, that seems to become loose ,
