Another taste of what is to come at EICMA, Rieju has announced that they will be launching the RS3, a replacement for their RS2 50cc-125cc displacement sportbikes, at the EICMA 2009 International Motorcycle Show in Milan on November 9th. Designed in conjunction with ArianeTech Ingeniería and Xenophya Design,*this little sportbike is sure to turn a few heads…unfortunately, just not in America. More after the jump.

Established in 1934, the Rieju brand has great European heritage based out of Catalunya, and has evolved to become a major small capacity motorcycle producer, having over 17% of the market share in the 50cc geared motorcycles market in the EEC, and over 27% of the market share in Spain.

With help from ArianeTech and Xenophya,*Rieju has reworked the RS series from the ground up. *The result is an evolution of the original RS concept, and a bike with what they call a sportbike package with “comfort and versatility aimed squarely at the youth market.”

Jamie Masterman Commercial Director for Rieju UK Ltd commented:

"The development of the new Sport RS3 series is key to our corporate goal of providing competitive sport machines at competitive prices in the small capacity sectors, we look forward to building the Rieju brand in the UK and aim to mirror its incredible success in the rest of Europe."

In addition to the RS3 series, the 2010 Rieju range will, for the first time in the UK, include the eagerly awaited Yamaha competition powered MRT 250 & MRT 450 XC machines.

Be sure to check back next week for our pictures of the RS3, and what will surely be the closest experience you’ll get to this small displacement sportbike.
