Mite be talking bollocks as usual, but i think a PC3 takes the output from the ecu and adjusts the fueling only according to the map installed - (unless you also have the ignition module).
Assuming that the replacement chip has revised ignition settings then i would guess that the pc map you have would not be "perfect". Did you have it set up or does it just have a library map ?

Think the gabro chip would be pretty close, without a need for a PC....

Mite be worth finding out the differences in the chips, then talk to a dyno bod, or maybe contact gabro too ?

I think Roy just has the chip on his..... & it goes like foooooooook !

Hi Felix, all I know is the previous owner had allegedly set up the pclll with a custom map, but like I said I can no longer use the original chip so the PC settings will no doubt be screwed.
Thanks,
Rob

yeah....... He must save a fortune in front tyres..... its never on the floor !

:)

whatever chip roy has, it works well without the need for s pc.
Also, it has a switch so he can change maps too.
Drop him a PM.... he's working away at the mo..

:)

It may not have been the ecu it may have just needed an EPROM..... The daughter board suggests it had an aftermarket EPROM in it ...map on the pc3 will still work as that controls the fuelling ..the EPROM however May have modified ignition tables on it which help..... The bike should still run ok though

redratbike, thanks for that info, I was considering removing the PC believing the existing custom map would be all to cock if I installed another upgraded chip.
Cheers, rob
