Its too easy to get sucked into online auctions,....."I'll bid a bit more,only another £5,.......bugger,outbid.I'll bid a bit more,....etc,etc."
I usually have a price in mind what I think the item is worth and stick to it.I won some and have lost some,.....usually by some sneaky sniping *******.
It has worked the other way for me.I sold a load of Ducati bits on fleabay and actually made a profit on a Hypermotard gel seat.

I've yet to sell on fleabay (prefer forums and Gumtree, no listing and paypal charges for a start, though it does rely more on trust), but I've bought loads of stuff and got some real bargains. If prices start to get silly I walk away, though this theory does go to pot when I'm pissed. Don't think I've ever paid over the odds for stuff, but bought some proper tat that I'd never consider when in full control of my senses. eg: a miniskirt for the missus. Now she used to wear miniskirts when she was 20 years younger, had had no kids, and was a size 10. Now it just led to "Why the **** did you buy me a miniskirt, I'll never wear that in public". My response " no probs, save it for a shag on the sofa when the kids are asleep" was not well received...

lol - I sold a black seat (Gen2) hump a few weeks ago and only got £12.50 for it... Would rather have kept it for that! Thought I'd get at least 30-40 for it.
