When I bought my T (a whole month ago), I was also thinking of waiting for the Ducati Streetfighter, but realised I was not prepared to pay £12 - £14 K.

MCN (motorcycle news, a weekly Uk biking newspaper) have just done a street test with the Triumph Speed Triple 1050 (I had one before the previous bike GSXR 1000, and the T is loads better than both) vs the Duke and the Triumph won out as the best road bike, though it would whup the triple on the track.

I cannot wait to see how the Duke matches up to the T, both road and track. Knowing our incredibly fickle UK bike mags, the duke will when as it is the "latest, greatest, bestest ever", though I am still keen to see what they reckon.

Any thoughts out there?:megaphone

You are right about the fickle UK bike mags. The T seems to either win the "super naked group tests" or get slated for being single minded and over the top. Then they test a new bike like the cb1000 or K1300 and suddenly forget all about the Tuono and don't make any comparisons... For this reason I do not take much notice of what the bike mags say, instead I ride all the bikes that I fancy to compare them myself! After all, everyone has a different opinion of what is good and what they like. It would be better if the reports focussed on how the bikes actually were, rather than comparing them to what the testers personally like/dislike...

I couldn't work out why they didn't test it against the T:crazy,as it won the super naked test last year beating the trip. But we all know the best naked bike out there by far:cheers
