been reading alot about a chip from DrRossi.

sorry to be picky, but what will the chip do without a dyno setup?

i can see the benefit of using 2 maps by connecting a small switch to the ecu wire, but surely everybodies engine combo is different?

is the obvious thing cost?

just asking :dunno

oh, just put a 16T sprocket on the front, will have to leave the 44T for another day as the chain and stock 42T are brand new from the previous owner.

Kev

I have 16/44 with standard length chain :thumbup

On the chip, i have a DR Rossi fitted but i didn't really notice much difference to the Arrows one i had in.I've since had the TB's set-up so I might swap chips back to see if i notice any difference as i've had the rossi chip in for a while now so it should be obvious if the performance drops.

Another member who i ride with ( maybe i should re-phrase that :biggrin) rsvr64 also had one fitted and he said his bike was totally transformed :thumbup it smoothes out the fueling and makes roundabouts and slow manouvering much better :thumbup

i thought the 44T would fit to be honest while i was messing about with the front one.

what i have noticed is the sticky tape serial number seal thing on the ecu has been scraped off, but there seems to be a small blob of glue over one of the screws that secure the lid, i guess it has been opened at some point but i didnt try as i was just tidying up stoopid indicator wiring and adding a few ty-raps to secure wires etc from a previous owner attempts at wiring
:whipping

what sort of money are the chips by the way?

Kev

im just about to order a 44T... hoping mine will fit with standard chain too !! :devious

PM dr rossi kev with your bike set-up i.e race cans or open airbox etc and he'll make one to suit :thumbup

have done sprocker

will look inside the ecu box and see whats inside first.

I had a arrow chip fitted, and replaced with a Dr Rossi Chip, I run a "Hooked" airbox and open can. The difference was amazing, the Rossi chip, cleaned up my flat spot, and seemed to give better response through the rev range.

I had the RP58 EPROM fitted with a Hooked air box and free flow exhaust. It suffered from hesitation/stuttering at certain RPM and a distinct lack of willingness to perform in traffic.

Told DrRossi what my set up was and a week later his EPROM arrived, fitted it straight away and it was a massive improvement.

Took it to Griffs to have my CO and TB's set up and it's now amazing.

Well worth the small layout.

Have tryed 6 different eproms in my RSVR & have made my own maps with the PCIII but if you want the hardest running Chip then get a Factory Pro eprom they are the best , I have tryed them all & have a box full of eproms to prove it .

Can someone clea r this up, it sounds very interesting.

I run quite a few mods like most of you guys, I am not sure about the chip but run a PCIII.

Now is the DRrossi chip something you use if you dont have a PCIII mapped to suit??? Or should I get the DRrossi chip and not get a custom map??

CONFUSED:dunno

A Factory Pro Eprom runs harder than anything out there without PCIII but as I have alot of other mods I have put a PCIII into the bike to try different set ups & how it effects the tuning but run the bike with zero map most of the time . If the eprom is good & has a good ignition curve then you should only have to set Bleed screws , & trim pots if the chip activates them .

Send me a PM with you're adres, I might suprise U :eatcorn
If you find a better Eprom for under 100 Euro please let me know. :pirate

don`t know if this helps ........................
spoke to the griffer :hail before i did some bits to mine , get a custom map but make it the last thing you do,( it ain`t cheap but worth it ) it will get everything workin together and fuel perfek . the chip wont make huge difference if you run a pc 111 cos when you get map done it will set up what you ave fitted on ,if you know what i mean . when i had mine done i had the
rp58 chip in which seems quite capable . but havin said that managed to pick up an sp titanium one so in it went , and of to dyno centre and there it has stayed no probs yet . so put everything you can on then get it set up and mapped ..........then enjoy :thumbup

did that make some sort of sense :dunno :biggrin

The main thing to look for is that your eprom has an excellent Ignition timing map first as without it fueling changes can only do so much . With the Factory Pro & Garbo chips they have very aggressive ignition timing which give huge power gains through the whole rev range .

Where do you get one of these then ?.

I'm guessing the DrRossi chip is very similar, and probably cheaper ? :dunno

I see you have a 07 RSVR which doesn't have a Eprom ECU they use Flash programes to up load new tunes , if changing pipe etc you would have map 2 loaded to set the fueling for the open flow of the new pipes . You best bet would be a Tuneboy or PCIII to add more tuning performance

Just bought a 2nd hand Mille - has an Akropovic end can. How do you tell if there is a chip added for the custom can vs an original chip. I have been told that if you just change exhaust without the mapping chip you can damage engine ? is this true or does the bike just not run that great. I am just keen not to do damage - thanks

You will have to take the ECU out of the bike & take the lid off it & see what Eprom is in the board should have if standard RP58 on it or if not take a picture of it & post up here no need to pull it out & don't go touching it to much . If you have a Akropovic pipe they come with one of their Eproms so hopefuly it has & has been installed . Bike will be a bit ruff if standard eprom with aftermarket pipe but not bad enough to do major damage . You can always check the plugs if not to sure they will tell you how rich or lean the bike is pretty well .

Cheers mate - appreciate the advice - will do so. I am definitely the layman here when comes to too much technical stuff, especially electronics. ( thought power commander was the guy in charge of driving a boat !!)

Haha..........

Hey guys

Just ordered a special chip from Drrossi himself.

Will fill you in on results :)
