DR Rossi Eprom review

Dr Rossi offered me to try out one of his eproms to compare it with the other 9 different chips I have so I said yes to this very kind offer . The Eprom turned up today & I couldn't get my spare ECU out of the cupboard quick enough to put it in & try it out , 10min later the bike was fired up with out touching anything just plug the ecu with the new Rossi chip in it & bike warmed up great without any effort or stalling & settled down to a low 600rpm which I turned up to 1000rpm when it got to 75deg , grabbed my helmet & off up the road & insantly noticed how very smooth the power delivery was not as hard hitting as the Factory Pro which has a very aggressive ignition timing map but still easly lifting the wheel of the road at around 2800rpm in
1st & then again in 2nd at 8000rpm which was the same as the FP chip but the motor was much less vibratey which I found was a down side to the FP chip , yes ther FP made big power but at the cost of making the motor feel abit stressed when pulling high revs . The DR Rossi chip when pushed to full revs pulled totally clean right through to rev limiter in every gear till 260k was showing on the speedo :devious, top gear roll on's from 100ks where excellent with no sign of hesitation or flat spots even from 2000rpm :doug.
I will adjust my air bleeds to just fine tune the bike to the eprom 2moro just to see if it needs it & will check the plugs for how things are inside the motor to check mixtures but from how it ran 2day I'd be surprised if it needs to much playing round with . The end result ? is it better than a FP chip , hard call to be fair the low down of the FP chip is good but you have to watch it as it can spin up the rear easly out of corners when leant over where as the DR-Rossi chip delivers the power alot more linear & controlled making getting hard onto the power earlyer exiting the apex easyer , which when racing is everything !! or dusting up a Jap bike . Mid range power are pretty much the same abit more again with the FP but not by much , then the top end from what I have said above the FP feels vibratey when high in the revs where as the Rossi just keep on going smooth as & was by all things abit better .My finial call both exceptional eproms love the FP eprom & now loving the silky smooth power produced by this eprom . A DRAW :dunno:thumbup

I had the RP58 EPROM fitted as standard and when I fitted my DrRossi EPROM it made a huge difference to the lower to mid RPM range. It went from being a real **** to drive round town and navigate roundabouts to a dream, the difference was that great.

It did feel like the midrange punch was tamed a little but to trade the punch for the smoothness was a fair trade in my book.

Alain certainly knows his stuff and is continually striving to achieve better results all the time. This is one upgrade well worth the money. :thumbup
