Down sides of a caponord ??

If Your Cruise Control Won't Set To Speed......

G'day Caponuts, Just been for a ride on some of our "Ozzie Best Back Roads" and Capo naturally handled the lumps and bumps with ease......however, I did loose my cruise control function.

This turned out to be the micro switch on the clutch lever assembly - it had bumped itself out of position. So I pushed it back in and all is perfect again.

err... they were big bumps.....glad I wasn't on my Blackbird;)

New member

To introduce myself have been riding for 42 yrs & in that time had many motor cycles starting off with a Honda pee wee Honda 750 four k 3 a Honda 350 4 stroke trail bored to 410 Yamaha hd Suzuki even rode motor cross for a while so many bikes must add them up one day. I joined this forum to hopefully get some good info re/ capornod must say I'm 2 wks away from pick up but didn't go in to buy aprilia capornord I went to look at a triumph thunder bird I must say I love the triumph brand when you've riden as much as me u soon know what feels good for me. the capo rode as it looks I'm not one for adaptive suspension so ordered strata & hopfully won't spend a fortune on getting it right for my self, it has very long legs so not sure about different sprocket yet will see. for the money u get a lot of motor cycle will write again soon cheers mr jeff

G'day Mr J. I'm around your vintage, with 16 bikes and over 600,000kms past my prime. Caponord has the grin factor nicely coupled to the comfort factor..;)

There is a swag of good/bad info and lots of great photo's over on the 2014-2016 AF1 sponsored Caponord forum - you should have a troll thorugh it as not many drop in on this 2013 site........Cheers:D

ps the strada is a huge bargain at the moment - on sale for under $17k and you can fit a Givi tube pannier frame (similar to the Rally set up) if you want to run panniers that don't cost $750ea (Aprilia-Shad OEM Travel Pack). You can also fit a centre stand, but need the frame support for the left hand side to make the mount possible.

Hi all,

I thought I would post in this thread as it seems to have a few new owners.

I also got mine recently from On Yer Bike (I call them On Yer Wallet) there not the cheapest dealer around but really good friendly guys - I have bought three new bikes from them now.

Mine is a 2016 Caponord Rally in Silver (which I think is more Titanium) - tried the Tiger, the BMW GS1200 and the Ducati Multistrada but this is by far the best ride and seems to be the most nimble - I aim to use it for the poor weather months as I also have a Ducati Diavel for the better weather.

So far very pleased with it but only had it a few days - first thing I think I will swap out is the headlamp bulbs it looks naff with LED daylight bulbs and yellow main lamps and I know from experience I can get much better light with LED's - I swapped them on most bikes previously.

As usual with these things it seems that there are conflicts of opinion on the bulb type so if someone can confirm I think its the H11?

Some sites ae saying H4 - I dont want to phaff about by removing them just to prove that if possible.

G'day Johnnoooo, from Aus!

I just dropped in - Capo has H11 halogen bulbs - but be advised, the plastic silvercoated lens base will turn brown from bulb heat (mine went this way after about 32k kms).

So going LED is a good idea just be sure you don't end up scaring possums like HID conversions I've read about.

I put a pair of Philips LED's in but they are actually fog light bulbs and though they look good (nice white colour) they are not as good as OEM at night. Some others have put the extra performance halogen H11 type in but I've read they run even hotter than OEM bulbs so they will scorch the headlight reflectors even sooner.......have a look how close the two low beam bulbs are to the plastic reflectors.....then look at the centre (high beam) and you'll see what I mean.

I'd like to know what you put in and how well it works as I'm tempted to go back to yellow H11 for extra sparkle as I have resolved my burn marks with "cool tape" inserts.

Cheers

Ps there's a shed load of info available in the 2014-2016 Capo forum........this forum is ok,but most of the gang lurk on the other site.....
