Hey guys. I have a 2001 Mille with BlueFlame evo pipe (no baffles, naturally :devious). I have just bought an evo airbox mod and am wondering if it is necessary to get a Gabro chip to sort out the fuelling or would it be okay to continue on the standard derestricted map?? I was intending to get a Gabro chip but the cover for the ECU is an absolute bastard to get off,the heads on the tiny little screws keep on rounding off :confused

Is my bike possibly gonna blow up if I stick that evo mod in it without rechipping it!?!

cheers guys :thumbup

Gabro chip doesnt change fueling that much compared to stock derestricted chip. It does change the timings. Overall aftermarket chip doesnt realy make any diference on a normaly modded machine :D
I put this gabro chip in my mille 2000 with LeoVice slip on and it didnt realy make any diference compared to the stock one.

For fuel adjustment power commander is a better investment.
But later on when you have all that mods I would still put a diferent chip in, every % counts :D

I would get a Power Commander and a custom map done TBH. It won't blow up but may run lean or rich and you won't know. Either could potentially damage the engine over a period of time. Mine went really lean after fitting the airbox.

I run an Evo Airbox mod, with Aprilia TI chip & TI pipe..i put a Power Commander in awhile back and its definately the way to go..write a complete new custom fuel map on the Dyno to suit your engine, set fuel/air ratios evenly across the throttle range @ 13%... definately worth the investment with an increase of 5+ HP & more Torque @ the rear wheel ..highly recommended piece of black magic :thumbup

have you a pc3 setup if you have we will compare it to my renegade race chip setup when we meet :devious
(ask your mate smiffy)

Hi mate,

Yeah I have a PC3 fitted but not custom mapped yet.

Wanted to get it mapped at the end of last summer but had a few issues with he bike that needed resolving first.

I managed to contact Dynojet UK and ask for advice on what was best for my set up, uploaded the advised file and it was much better than standard.

My bike is in dire need of a visit to Southern Cross for the exhaust CO to be set up and a custom map.

What's the Renegade set up like then?

AMB, Let me answer that for you, the Renegade setup that Spanner has is un real.
I was out with him a few weeks ago and his bike pulled away from mine like mine was a 50cc scooter, He has the Renegade Airbox, Renegade Cans and Renegade Chip, the chip gives him an extra feck knows how many extra BHP, I have now got a renegade airbox and arrow chip in my bike, tomorrow we should see how much better my bike performs....but I know it isnt going to be as quick as his, even a PC3 setup ontop of what I already have still wouldnt beat him.....his bike looks the nuts....goes like a bat out of hell .......and by christ can he ride it!
