I'd be halfway between the 08 f and 09 r, i have an 09 r and it is much more capable than me, the suspension is more than good enough and they are planted in the wet too.
saying that, the 08 f sounds rather tasty with gold rims/frame, and probably hold its value better because of the ohlins and colour scheme.
ride both and see what difference there is.
