alright guys, i've got the above mentioned chain sitting in the garage and wondered if it will be suitable for the Tuono with 16/44 combo? It's a 110 link. Gettin that feckin sss again off asap after readin longfingers thread! Cheers again.

dose it say 525v on the box ?

No buddy, it says D.I.D 50V4. It's a 110 link so length should be fine for 16/44 gearing. I've searched the net and the "D.I.D 50" series claims to be the super strength chain (for 1000cc upwards machines) but it's not lised on websites a standard option for the Mille/Tuono????

It's brand new and if it will work then great as don't want to shell out £100 plus if i don't have too!!!!!

:thumbup

if it is a did 525v chain then it will be a O-ring chain not sure if its any good really as i would only use a X-ring

the X-ring is a 525vm
and heavy duty X-ring is 525zvm

as for the lenth it will be alright

if it list's it as good for 1000's onwards then i would stick it on

DID is a good make chain in my eyes

These are the quotations I've found regarding the 50V4 chain???

"You will find that 525, 530, and 50 chains will all fit on most sprockets
because they have the same pitch, or distance between the centers of the
hardened steel pins in the center of the rollers. It's 5/8th's of an inch."

and

"A 530 chain is slightly stronger, in terms of tensile strength than a 525 and a
50-series chain is even stronger, and is suitable for motorcycles up to 1000cc."

So on that basis, it should be fine.....yeah??????

if it list's it as good for 1000's onwards then i would stick it on

Thanks buddy, yeah everything seems to be ok for fitting it!!

Cheers again.............:thumbup

Has anyone fitted a 520 X ring chain? I have always ahd 520 kits on race bikes with sprockets to match and was just wonderign about doing the same on the RSVR.

i use a 520 on my 400 race bike and will be replacing my 525 for a 520 on my rsv

i was told the only reason to use a 520 was to fit a larger rear tyre and because it saves weight

when racing a chain is classed as a throw away item and 520's are always cheaper

for the road 525 i think would be best

that is true

in my eyes it could be a over kill as you never ride as hard on the road as you do on the track

I was only considering it for the price and selection of sprockets you can get in 520. I fancy one of those supersprox for the back. 42 teeth 520 pitch with a DID X ring chain and Renthal 15T front sprocket.

I have run 520 on the road and it is fine, never had any probs at all, Mark, i run a 43 supersprox with 525 pitch and 15 front on my 06 factory
