Now sorted

Hi,

Got a reply from griff and had a good chat with him on the phone - top bloke :thumbup.

Per Griffs suggestion, went out to recreate the fault armed with a spare spark plug (to check whether the spark was being cut). Got the bike to fault and pulled over to investigate, went to get my spare plug out from the rear compartment and accidentally disturbed the DATATOOL immobiliser, voila the fuel pumped armed and the bike started again straight away :biggrin. Then thought ok if I smack the immobiliser with a spanner the bike might cut out, and surprise surprise - cut straight away. :eatcorn

So thats it folks just got to bypass and scrap the immobiliser, might even treat the damn DATATOOL to a gallon of premium unleaded as a farewell gesture:exclamation

Thanks to all those who helped and replied. Big thanks to Caterpillar, Sprocker and of course Griff (Fusebox).

Cheers

Hi,
Scrapped the immobiliser and took her for a 30 mile blast - Didn't fault once so all is cured.
Just have to watch where I park her since theres plenty thieving scum in this town.:(
Cheers

Hi mate, i can only sympathize with you, i know exactly what you've been feeling, i was getting the EFI light and also the DIAG 1 on my dash.... My RSV mille R is doing the exact same thing, today i replaced all spark plug's, checked every connection, checked load test on battery, put a new side stand sensor on, and she kicked up first time, sounded beautiful to hear that purr.
I went round the streets through the gears and no problem slow or mid speed, came back put full riding gear on, went out got 2 miles at a set of lights and she died and would not start again, this is the 3rd time in a week now, and my patience is running thin..

After 5 minutes she kicked up un-aided with throttle or choke, got me back home, and cut out a freaking gain. Ive been reading your posts and out of curiosity went to the bike dis-armed it, she wouldn't start again, tapped the alarm and tried again, she turned over and wanted to run, but wasn't quite there.
I have the DATA-TOOL as-well and was wondering if you could mail me the instructions to send this glitchy pile of poop into orbit??

You have replied to a thread that was last active in 2009 matey..

Have you tried calling griff?

Alarms can be known to become an issue on bikes..

Have you done the wiring mod, solenoid etc?

Hi mate no i haven't called griff as i dont know his number etc, i did the mod and solenoid was tested and made no difference, ive got the alarm in pieces at mo, as the datatool site say it could be spiked, so today i will put it back together as per diagram and see what happens..
When your bike broke down could you hear the fuel pump? only i cant but having said that it the bike was trying to start when i hit the alarm last night...

Hi guy's just to let you all know, I've cured the RSV it ended being the datatool alarm and fuel pump... alarm is now in orbit, and new pump ordered..And new acumen alarm ordered, thank's for your advice, and i hope this may help others in need of same advice...:thumbup
