Derestricted Airbox Inlet

ive got a 2002 rsv and this looks interesting,
the early part appears to be much less restricting, why would aprilia fit a narrower intake on the later, more powerful model?

does anybody know if there is much of a performance increase with this mod?
would it only improve top end?
would low to mid range suffer?
would i need to alter fueling map?

thanks

im interested in this mod too... im just awaiting for a 'HOOK' mod dyno graph to see which way to go... i dont really need more top end as i dont do track days... more interested in a bulging low-mid range... which i think/hope Hooks mod would help with !! :biggrin

anyone done the early airbox collector swap as above & have any opinions !? :confused

i believe its a straight swop, rsvr.net sell for the 01-03, look under the sub heading "the need for speed" £54 + P&P

The later narrower intake is made that way to reduce intake noise.

TBH i dont think the performance increase will be very noticable.
I dont think any of the rev range will suffer and at high speed there will be small gains.
If youve already cut the wire and are running map 2 you dont need to change anything, but i would definately recommend a DrRossi chip cos its ace.

£55 seems a bit steep but im going to get one to get rid of that **** looking later version.
